🔸The next GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup race is scheduled for May 30-31 at 3 Hours of Monza. It is confirmed as the third round of the global calendar and the second of the Endurance Cup. The #58 Gulf McLaren 720S GT3 Evo of Garage 59, driven by Benji Goethe along with his teammates Louis Prette and Tom Fleming, will defend their lead in the Gold category.

The Garage 59 team's #58 McLaren 720S GT3 EVO, driven by Thomas Fleming, Louis Prette and Benjamin Goethe, had a standout performance in the opening round of the 2026 GT World Challenge Europe season at the Circuit Paul Ricard (April 11-12), achieving a podium finish overall and securing the victory in its class.

🔸The Spanish team McLaren Barcelona-SMC Motorsport is launching into the elite of European endurance racing in 2026, competing in the Michelin Le Mans Cup with the McLaren 720S GT3 EVO sporting its characteristic Gulf racing livery. The Spanish team, led by Emilio de Villota and with the ultimate goal of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, boasts a stellar lineup of drivers Gonzalo de Andrés and Jean-Baptiste Simmenauer.

🔸Epic comeback and podium finish in debut!
They made a spectacular debut in the Michelin Le Mans Cup with a thrilling third place at Montmeló. After a heavy impact at the first corner that damaged the car, the team didn’t give up: the experience of Gonzalo de Andrés and the blistering pace of junior driver JB Simmenauer secured a podium finish that felt like a victory.

Spain now has a serious new contender in endurance racing. Next stop: Paul Ricard.

🔸In mid-1968, the JW Automotive Engineering commissioned a new prototype for the 1969 season, intended to replace the aging Ford GT40.
* This prototype is now one of the lesser-known cars with Gulf’s iconic light blue and orange . It’s the Gulf Mirage M2. Only three units were ever built.
* This particular car, chassis number 03, roared with a BRM V12 engine. Its time on the track was brief: just two appearances at Spa and the Nürburgring, with British drivers David Hobbs and Mike Hailwood at the wheel.
* Shortly afterward, it was retired due to reliability issues, making way for the legendary Porsche 917 in the 1970 season.
