🔸In 1969, he joined the John Wyer Automotive team with the Mirage and Gulf Ford GT40. Driving a Ford GT40, with David Hobbs as his co-driver, he finished 3rd in the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
* In 1970, Mike returned to Le Mans with the impressive number 22 Gulf Porsche 917, which he shared with David Hobbs, but this time they were unlucky and retired after five hours of racing.
* And in the 1974 24 Hours of Le Mans, he again achieved a good result: 4th, with specialist Derek Bell in the number 11 Gulf GR7-Ford Cosworth DFV V8.
