At Dime, learning Spanish goes beyond the classroom!

Last week, three of our teachers organized a Pasapalabra-style game, adapted so that students of all levels could take part. The activity helped review class content while encouraging real-life language use in a fun, relaxed environment. These kinds of experiences boost confidence, support social interaction, and reinforce learning.

At Dime Spanish School, we organize urban walks through Barcelona so our students can learn the language through the city itself. Some days ago we visited El Raval — a neighborhood full of history and contrasts. 😸
From its medieval origins to its vibrant multicultural present, we explored iconic spots like the Hospital de la Santa Creu, the MACBA, and the Rambla del Raval. A rich experience that connects learning Spanish with discovering the true heart of Barcelona.

Today we’re celebrating at the school… because it’s Saint Cristina’s Day! 🎉

And we have triple the reason to celebrate — we have three Cristinas on our team! 😄 Two of them are Spanish teachers who share their love for teaching with students from all over the world every day. The third Cristina is our co-director, always on top of everything to make sure the school runs smoothly — and she really makes it happen!

To mark this special occasion, we shared a delicious breakfast with the whole team: fresh croissants 🥐, big smiles, and lots of good vibes.

It was a simple but lovely moment — full of joy, laughter, and that team spirit that makes our school feel like a second home for everyone who’s part of it.

Happy day to our Cristinas! 💛 You make this place what it is.

The festival of Sant Joan, known in Catalonia as la revetlla de Sant Joan, is celebrated on the night of June 23rd to 24th, marking the beginning of summer.
The celebration is defined by several traditional elements: bonfires, fireworks, and of course, coca, the typical sweet you simply must try.

As June comes to a close, so does the first edition of the Dime Spanish Literary Club, an activity that has been as enriching as it has been stimulating. It has been a pleasure to accompany our students over the past few months, reading, discussing, and discovering stories together that have made us reflect, learn, and enjoy Spanish from a different angle: through literature. 📕

Participants have greatly appreciated the experience, and most have already reserved their spot for the next term. We’ll resume the club in October, with new books and the same enthusiasm for sharing readings and learning together.

If you’re interested in improving your Spanish through reading, you’re welcome to join! For those of us who love books, there’s no better entertainment than a good story.
