This frantic Tex Avery cartoon stars Droopy as a Mountie who is tasked with capturing a desperate wolf escapee, leading to a legendary chase that spans the entire globe. The most famous running gag in this short features Droopy appearing in impossible locations—under a rug, inside a safe, or even behind a waterfall—every time the wolf thinks he has finally escaped. To heighten the absurdity, Tex Avery instructed the animators to draw the wolf’s “take” (his shocked reaction) with increasing intensity, eventually resulting in his eyes literally popping out of his head and his jaw dropping to the floor.
