Artist frequently represents female figures, particularly in her more personal pieces. She uses these characters to tell a story, to depict an emotion or feeling in a subtle way. “For me, they inhabit their own little world”, she tells us. “Sometimes I think about them like sad pop songs—they’re catchy and fun to sing along to, but slightly melancholic.
