Here’s a crazy Sunday Story ya’ll…
If you hear a voice in your head telling you to speak to a stranger, listen to it…
Earlier today I was downtown running errands and crossed paths with a young lady trying to hold back tears, clutching a bottle in her hands. She was moving fast. A voice inside told me to stop and say something, but I hesitated. She walked away, and I went on with my day.
Hours later, I was at a scenic overlook on the other side of the city watching the sunset. I turned around, and the exact same girl walked right past me.
Out of the entire city, our paths crossed twice in one afternoon.
I asked if she was downtown earlier going through it. She looked stunned. When I told her why I stopped her, the tears started again.
I shared a message of love, hope, and resilience. Reminded her that being a human being is no easy task, but whatever she is going through, she will overcome it, and she is never as alone as she feels.
Her boyfriend arrived right then, and we ended up having a raw conversation about life, emotions, and vulnerability. Before leaving, she asked for a hug with tears in her eyes.
I didn’t take any pictures or videos, I’ll probably never see her again.
I don’t know if it was a coincidence or destiny.
But lately, I’ve had my own moments of overwhelm walking in public with uncontrollable tears pouring down my face, trying to stay discreet but possibly secretly wishing someone would just stop and tell me things were going to be alright. Maybe today I was just meant to speak the words I needed to hear myself…
Listen to your intuition. You never know whose life you touch with two minutes of real compassion.
What do you think: coincidence or destiny?
I’m curious, let me know in the comments, have you ever heard that kind of voice in your head? And what would you have done?
Have a blessed Sunday my people!
