Jennifer Lopez, Ben Affleck’s mansion relisted with $12m price cut

Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck’s former Beverly Hills mansion they resided in during their marriage has hit the market again — this time with an $US8 million ($A12.1 million) price slash.

Lopez, 56, and Affleck, 53, snapped up the Beverly Hills estate in May 2023 for the sky-high price of $US60.8 million ($A90 million), Realtor reports.

The pair quickly set about renovating the estate, reportedly spending millions more to turn it into their dream marital sanctuary.

But, just one year later, it was back on the market with a hefty price tag of $US68 million ($A101 million) as the couple headed for divorce.

Their split was finalised in January of this year, with the duo agreeing to split any profits from the sale of their former marital home.

However, they struggled to find a buyer for the lavish dwelling — and, just two months after reducing their asking price to $US59.95 million ($A93.6 million) in May, they removed the home from the market.

Now, the exes are once again trying to offload the expansive dwelling as property records reveal the home has been relisted with an asking price of $US52 million ($A78 million).

The home features a wide range of custom amenities, including an indoor sports complex, complete with basketball and pickleball courts, a fully equipped gym, a boxing ring, a sports lounge, and a bar.

As for its more “traditional” features, the home boasts a staggering 12 bedrooms and 24 bathrooms.

The listing describes the abode as a serene spot where “timeless elegance and modern convenience blend seamlessly in the heart of Beverly Hills.”

Though these high-end features may make the property incredibly appealing to any wealthy buyer, there are several rather pricey considerations to take into account — including the sky-high monthly cost of maintaining the home, which Realtor estimated to be around $US284,000 ($A443,000) as of September 2024, including the former couple’s mortgage payments.

The property is also subject to Los Angeles’ mansion tax, which would see them lose even more money in a sale.

“The house is located in the Beverly Hills post office area, which is technically in the city of Los Angeles (not the independent city of Beverly Hills), so the mansion tax applies,” celebrity real estate agent Jason Oppenheim previously revealed to Realtor.

“Therefore, they will have to pay a mansion tax of more than $3 million. So they could lose more than an additional $5 million after commissions, taxes, etc.”

Oppenheim also offered up his suggestions as to why the home has struggled to find a buyer, despite its impressive design and Hollywood pedigree.

“It was always going to be difficult to land a deal, largely because the pool of potential candidates is so small, “ he explained in October 2024.

Jennifer Lopez is putting in extra hours to reinvent herself as more than a pop punchline.

With her upcoming role in Kiss of the Spider Woman, the 56-year-old star is trying to step into the lane of “serious actress.” The Bill Condon–directed film drops October 10 and positions Lopez as Aurora, the hypnotic siren at the center of the story.

Per PEOPLE, she’s already previewed a key track from the soundtrack — “Never You,” a John Kander composition that hadn’t been performed since the musical’s development days in the early ’90s. Lopez’s rendition made its streaming debut on September 18.

The momentum continues in November, when Lopez will be honored with the Virtuoso Award at the SCAD Savannah Film Festival. The school announced she’ll receive the recognition on November 1 after a live taping of Awards Chatter with The Hollywood Reporter’s Scott Feinberg.

The award is meant to spotlight her performance in Kiss of the Spider Woman as well as her career across music, television, and film.

Christina Routhier, the festival’s senior executive director, called Lopez’s presence “a landmark moment” and emphasized that her body of work carries “invaluable lessons in versatility, resilience, and creative vision.”

Not everyone is buying into the narrative. When the festival shared the announcement on Facebook, the comment section quickly filled with jabs.

“Omg! She will have the whole town shut down including I-16 so no one can approach her 🥱,” one user wrote. Another simply asked, “OH MY GOD… WHO THE HELL CARRRRRES.” A third referenced her past association with Diddy, adding, “She must have been aware of what went on at the white parties.”

This kind of skepticism isn’t new for Lopez. Last year, her documentary fueled conversations about her being out of touch, with viral clips drawing ridicule across TikTok, per The Quinnipiac Chronicle.

For SCAD, though, the focus is on the opportunity for students to learn from a global figure who’s remained relevant for three decades. For Lopez, the Virtuoso Award adds another line to her résumé — but judging by the student and alumni response, her attempt at rebranding continues to face resistance outside the spotlight.

The actress was joined by famed filmmaker Ridley Scott, the visionary behind the Gladiator movies and the Alien series and one of the highest-grossing directors of all time.

She wore a deep burgundy, velour set with a cropped jacket and wide-leg pants to match for the outing.

To go with her glamorous version of a casual look, she carried a crocodile-embossed leather clutch tucked under her arm.

Her outing comes shortly after it was revealed that she is still living in the $68million mega-mansion she shared with Affleck, 53, one year after they listed the lavish Bel-Air property for sale.

Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez have relisted their Beverly Hills marital mansion after slashing the price by $16M.

The exes are once again attempting to sell the sprawling home they bought in cash for $60.8 million in May 2023, nearly one year into their marriage.

On Friday the pesky palace went back up for sale for $52M, well below the initial $68M asking price attached to the property in July 2024, per TMZ.

It comes after the 56-year-old Kiss of the Spider Woman star and 53-year-old Air actor removed their house from the market in July after it had no takers.

As they struggled to get the property off their hands earlier this year, they'd lowered the price by $8 million in May.

Ben and Jennifer originally tried selling the estate privately before going public with the listing.

Per TMZ, the former husband and wife took out a $20 million mortgage when buying the Los Angeles abode.

Jennifer has since bought a smaller 10,046 sq ft home in Hidden Hills, closing on the property in February.

But in the meantime, as she remodels her new bachelorette pad, she is reportedly still living in the home that's for sale.

As for Ben, he vacated the Beverly Hills home in July 2024 — one month before his then-wife filed for divorce — and purchased a Brentwood mansion for $20.5M.

However, he's already moved on after finding a more luxurious and private house that was still under construction earlier this year.

Jennifer filed for divorce from Ben on their two-year wedding anniversary in August 2024.

Ben shares Violet, 19; Fin, 16; and Samuel, 13, with ex-wife Jennifer Garner, 53.

Meanwhile, Lopez shares fraternal twins Emme and Max, 17, with ex-husband Marc Anthony, 57.

Jennifer Lopez is releasing new music. Well, sort of.
The song "Never You" from Kiss of the Spider Woman premieres exclusively on PEOPLE Thursday, Sept. 18 via Lakeshore Records, ahead of the movie musical's premiere.

Sung by Lopez, 56, "Never You" is a "strikingly emotive song" and officially gets its "first-ever high-profile inclusion in the musical film and recording," per a press release.

Per a press release, "Never You," written by John Kander, has never been performed outside of the musical production's developmental stages at SUNY in 1990.

The song, which has the potential to become a newfound classic, is featured in a "pivotal point" of the upcoming Bill Condon-directed film

Condon's directing credits also include Beauty and the Beast (2017) and Showgirls, along with serving as a writer for Chicago and The Greatest Showman

Per an official synopsis, Kiss of the Spider Woman follows "Valentín (Diego Luna), a political prisoner, shares a cell with Molina (Tonatiuh), a window dresser convicted of public indecency.

The two form an unlikely bond as Molina recounts the plot of a Hollywood musical starring his favorite silver screen diva, Ingrid Luna (Lopez)."

Lopez also appears as the mystifying siren Aurora.

With music and lyrics by John Kander and Fred Ebb, the film combines classic Hollywood glamour and the grit of the prisoners bonded by Ingrid Luna's charisma and musical prowess.

Jennifer Lopez promotes Kiss of the Spider Woman but not Delola

I can’t think of any reason for Jennifer Lopez to have to get her hair done at a salon with open windows where the paps can take photos of her while her hair is being styled so I’m just going to assume that she’s doing this salon a solid and helping to promote them?

JLo is all about Kiss of the Spider Woman right now, and we all know, when she’s promoting something she goes hard. As Maria pointed out the other day, what she hasn’t been promoting is Delola.

It’s been months and not just on her feed but on the official Delola IG account, the last post is from February.

There hasn’t been any official reporting on the status of Delola but, obviously, this isn’t surprising considering that from the jump people were like, girl, you don’t drink, why are you launching a spritz?
