Two weeks in the Maldives, hopping between 5 local islands, and honestly, we’re still not over it. 💙 This place is wild—where tuna is cheaper than anything else (no joke) and life moves to its own chill rhythm.
Here’s how it went:
🌴 Malé – Absolute chaos. Busy markets, bikes everywhere, and a whole lot of honking. Definitely an experience!
🌴 Guraidhoo – Our favourite one! Super chill vibes, almost no tourists, and the local people are so kind + great prices.
🌴 Gulhi – The cutest little island, and the water is so clear it doesn’t even look real.
🌴 Thoddoo – This one surprised us, fruit fields everywhere with fruit bats flying above our heads, it’s so green! and perfect place for snorkelling with turtles just by the beach 🐢
Rasdhoo – Super peaceful, clean, colourful and the decorations around islands made of shells? Beautiful!
The Maldives gave us so many firsts- snorkeling with nurse sharks, manta rays, stingrays, turtles! swimming with marine life we never thought we’d see, watching eagle rays by the coast, and soaking up sunsets that made every day feel like a dream. 🐚🥹
This country is so much more than just luxury resorts. If you’re thinking about it, explore the local islands! you won’t regret it. I know we’ll be back someday 💙
