This is the final part of the Music for Psychedelic Duelling trilogy by Rapid Eye Electronics Ltd. While the previous parts forced their way into sentience via wild garlick occult electronics and brown acid techno, this one, subtitled The Loplop Pit (after Max Ernst's sinister and surreal bird spirit) adds what they're calling 'eschatological ambience' to the usual mix. New member Siin adds upside-down beat(en) poetry to some of the most apocalyptic and fogf**ked tracks, while barely restrained acidic bleeps and hesitant, broken-machine, beats hint at the kind of black hole Kosmische disco that has found full flame in their recent live shows. A co-release by Zona Watusa (Barcelona) and EPS (Yeovil) this is a definitive statement at the end of REELs current iteration and serves as a flickering dream-machine of light in the midst of an increasingly unstable and uncertain world. Will this release make you feel better? Well, no; but in these odd little melodies, haunted vocals and burst-open-at-the-seams machinations maybe there's a glimmer of hope even as we approach the End Times.
