Located next to the Hotel Ocas, in ‘the indoor’ you can get here hair & nails done, your phone fixed and your ears waxed, or just enjoy a coffee & a catch up… and your support is SO important.

A great space to escape the heat (or rain 🫣😅) make sure to put ‘the indoor’ on your ‘to do’ list next holiday - and if you’re planning any trips or activities this holiday, be sure to ask Gail to book them; it won’t cost you any more money but her service with a smile is a fast fading commodity, let’s treasure it!

Yesterday’s Pride Parade was an amazing success for animal charity BARC!

“We broke our all time record!” The charity founder Alan told me this morning; “We raised 2229€! We are so happy, thank you!”

Thank you to everyone who pledged donations to BARC’s ongoing plight to save & care for abandoned animals, and if you’re interested in helping more, I’ll pop their info in the first comment …🐾❤️

Like many crowd attracting events, there will be opportunists about today waiting to pounce; so keep your belongings safe - especially your phones - phone snatching is the biggest crime in Benidorm these days, ESPECIALLY if it’s unlocked like when you’re taking photos…

Share this info with your friends as a reminder…

Parade starts around 5pm on the Levante beach, and there’s an open air concert tonight at the Main Stage behind the town hall.

🏳️‍🌈BUSY WEEKEND ALERT! 💃🏻🏳️‍🌈But do you know this about the Pride Parade……?

We’ve a SUPER busy weekend ahead with Benidorm Pride - the highlight of which is the fabulous Pride Parade along the Levante beach on Saturday afternoon.

But fun & feathers aside, there’s actually a really important reason for some of the participants to be there; many local charities use the occasion to highlight their cause & raise funds - like BARC, a local charity that rescues & looks after hundreds of abandoned animals.

Run by Sue & Alan & their team of dedicated volunteers they work 365 days a year to care for their furry friends and the Pride Parade is the perfect platform for them to raise some much needed funds for their cause.

And like BARC there are more great causes shaking their buckets hoping for handouts.

So if you plan on seeing the parade please toss a few euros in their buckets as they pass… for the cost of just one cocktail can feed a dog for a week…

The Pride Parade starts around 5pm & winds along the Levante beach all the way to the town hall square in the Old Town.
Later there will be a fabulous open air concert in the Julio Iglesias auditorium behind the town hall.

Gone but never forgotten …🖤
29 years on we ALL remember where we were on this tragic day in history…

I was pregnant with our first child when I switched on the black & white portable TV in the bedroom to hear the Spanish newsreader tell the nation the awful news that Diana was dead…

I cried all week until the funeral & my husband couldn’t understand it… but it was genuinely like a close family member had gone, so powerful was her aura.

Summer came to a sudden end that year and it rained so hard it flooded our apartment… as if the sky was crying too…

What do you remember of that day?

And what would our beautiful Princess Diana think of the recent turn of events in her family… ?

Like any Mum, I think she’d be heartbroken…😞

😢End of the Season? HELL NO!
🌇💃🏻🕺🤩🥳🍹🪩💃🏻🕺🤩🍺🌇
Many resorts wind down at the end of August, but not Benidorm - the town that NEVER sleeps is actually about to get BUSIER!

September is an incredibly popular month; the kids have gone & so have the scorching temperatures & this attracts a more mature clientele, referred to in the sector as ‘silver’ tourists - although it’s not clear if this is because of their spending power or hair colour!

The regulars start to reappear, the campsites start to fill again & pubs that have been closed for summer (yes LOTS of places especially in the ‘new’ town close in summer) open again.

It’s the entire opposite to what you’d expect from a tourist hotspot like Benidorm - but the truth is Benidorm NEVER stops, it’s an all year round resort, it just attracts different people at different times….

So if you’re counting the days to Benidorm I’ll leave you with some familiar sights to whet your appetite!

☁️What shall we do today?☁️
The weather is as GREY as the mood today as an estimated 7 million Spaniards will head home this weekend.

This dip in the weather is normal at the end of August - but it’s not the end of the good weather, it rises again in September especially towards the end.

But that’s little consolation if you’ve chosen this week for your hols; so if you’re here now & wondering what to do today, here’s a few ideas;

🛍️Indoor Market: with over 100 stalls & services, it’s great for a mooch, a coffee & a cake, open 10-4pm & located next to Hotel Ocas.

🎳Go Bowling: Benidorm’s bowling alley is on the Avenida Mediterraneo opposite Hotel Agir, there’s an arcade for the kids too.

👠Shopping Centre
There’s a shopping mall near Benidorm called ‘La Marina’ with all the high street stores like Mango, Zara, C&A, H&M… you can jump on the number 3 bus from Benidorm centre, or in a taxi for about 20 euros each way for up to 4 people.

🚘Motor Museum: located near the shopping centre, it’s full of vehicles from across the ages.

🏃‍♀️Air Jump: a giant trampoline & fun centre for all ages, again it’s located on the edge of the shopping centre.

🌈Benidorm Pride Parade! 🌈
🌈💃🏻💅🕺👯‍♀️🌈💃🏻💅🕺👯‍♀️🌈
Benidorm is REVVING up for Pride week, from 1-6th September, the highlight of which is the fabulous Pride Parade on Saturday 5th!

This year 18 incredible floats & thousands of individuals will wind their way along the Levante beach towards the Old Town, and around 20,000 people are expected to line the streets to enjoy the event.

With performers, musicians, and the most colourful costumes, this is a fantastic event, so bring your flags, make some noise & enjoy the moment!

After the parade the party continues at the Pride Main Stage in the Julio Iglesias Auditorium behind the town hall.
