POV: You hear MOMMY I HAD AN ACCIDENT WITH YOUR PLANTS
and you already see your money and effort dying 😭😂

Last time. Inside the house. Bb playing with his bicycle. Then he RAN to me.

Bb: Mommy, I had an accident with your plants.😥
Me: *panic mode* Why?? Are you hurt??
Bb: No... but your plants opo.*points dramatically*

Me: Oh no... what happened to it, anak?
Bb: *with matching hand movements*
I was playing with my bicycle... then suddenly...
BUMP! The wheel hit it... and your plant fell...
and the soil too, on the floor! 😭

Me: *deep breath* Oh no. Next time be careful okay?"
Bb: *small voice* Are you gonna scold me mommy? It was just an accident.
Me: *thinking what lecture to give, thinking twice*For now no, I'm not gonna scold you.
Because you were honest. And you took responsibility of what you did.

Then just hug him.
Me: Next time be careful na with mommy's plants okay.
Bb: Opo mommy.

Mommies, that moment when your kid
does something like this? 🥹

He broke the plant.
But he didn't break my trust.

REST MUNA SA FOOD and MOM DRAMA 😂
Because HISTORY happened in Spain today.

After 120 years, total solar eclipse happened today!. 🌑

I was there. Witnessing it. With my own eyes.
And here are few of the snapshots 😍

Did I capture the "diamond ring"? No.
Did I get the exact moment the moon covered the sun? No. I don't have that sophisticated equipment.

But did I feel it? Super YES!
Breath-taking. Surreal. Once-in-a-lifetime.

The sky went dark in around 30 seconds!
People around me were silent.
And my little one was just staring up like "whoa mommy, that's the moon?" while his daddy guiding him.

My phone couldn't capture what my eyes saw.
But my heart did. To think the last time this happened in Spain was 120 years ago...
And I got to experience it with the two men of my life 😍🇪🇦

Pinays abroad, what were you doing during the eclipse? 🌘🌖

Wear your eye shield, and witness once in a century total solar eclipse! 🌘🌖🇪🇦

We visited this royalty feels town in Basque country, in Donostia San Sebastian. The area really speaks royalty because its a bit expensive there. 😅 But if you can still encounter affordable areas to enjoy specially this summer.

POV: Eating chicken wings while remembering why public transport is fun😅

Earlier on the bus.
Me: holding my 4 year old on my lap
Hubby: sitting behind us
Bb: Mommy, what does this picture mean?
*points to emergency exit instructions*

Me: *explaining for the 5th time*
Anak, that means pull here to open pag emergency, then people can go outside na.

Bb: ahh. Again 😅

One stop before our house... I randomly look to my left. There’s a guy. Late 30s. Spanish I think.
Walking toward the door...

BUT LOOKING AT ME. Smiling. Widely.

Me in my head: *scrolling memory files*
"Kilala ko ba 'to? May intro ba kami?"
Nada. Blank page. Zero.

He just keeps staring. Still smiling.
Weird haha.

Bus stops. He’s about to get off. And out of nowhere...
*raises both eyebrows*
Parang "challenge accepted" energy 😏

Me, a Filipina mom with zero time:
*raises both eyebrows back*
In my head: "DEJAME EN PAZ! (Leave me alone)
I will NOT swoop over with your stares!" 😂

Then he gets off.

Bb: Mommy what happened?
Me: Nothing much anak.
I just raised my eyebrows to strangers 😁

Told hubby later.
Him: See? My wife is attractive! 😅😅

Sir, thank you.
But I just have zero energy for bus flirting and I already have two men in my life 😁😁

To all the mommies and Filipinas abroad, have you ever experienced something like this? 👇

Saw this post while eating my kangkong 🌿😂

"Hi everyone. I've been with my Filipina for 6 years. But she still has not asked me for money.
Is this normal or did I do something wrong ?"

Dude. Consider yourself lucky.

That's how a Filipina loves.
Pure. Hard. Not after your wallet.

We know how to work our ass off to meet our needs. We have pride. And not to mention...
We know how to be independent, strong women
even if our partner is afam.

So while some of you label us as "gold diggers"...
There are some of us out there who are after DIAMONDS, not gold 😌✨
Charot! Hahaha!

Kidding aside. There are many of us who are just after a genuine relationship. A real partnership.

And not because we're Filipinas, doesn't mean we're helpless.

Sometimes we just want someone
to share kangkong with 🌿
Not your bank account.

Agree mga sis? 👇

POV: Teaching my son how to be grateful 😅
Spoiler: He taught me instead.

We were walking down the lane yesterday.
He saw vehicle toys in a shop window.
FULL STOP.

Bb: *names them all* Fire truck! Dump truck! Ambulance! Vroooom! Wee-oo!!
Bb: Mommy, can you buy me one of those please?🥺
Me: No bb. You already have a lot of toys at home.
That's enough for now.
Bb: But I don't have THIS kind of vehicle yet.

Me: *activates Mom Lecture Mode*
Anak, just be happy with what you have okay?
You know what, let me tell you a story.
When mommy was your age...
Bb: *ears open* What is it mommy?

Me: I barely had toys. Your Dada Ebeth and I shared ONE doll for years. ONE ball. Nada más.
Most of the time our toys were dried leaves, flowers, anything we could find."
(Imagine an emotional background music 😁)

Bb: *thinks... processes...*
Then smiles at me so innocently:

Bb: But now mommy, I can share toys with you.
We can play together and you will be happy. 😇
Me: *system loading...*
*system crashed, and not responding 😅

So... I still didn't buy the toy.
But I DID buy cheesecake + ice cream later 🍰
Because emotional damage deserves dessert.

Mommies abroad, naka-experience ba kayo nito?
You try to teach gratitude... and your kid turns it back on you with kindness at different level😭😂

I saw the sweetest scene yesterday morning
while I was doing laundry 🥹

There was my little one. Sitting in the sofa caressing his daddy's head. Softly. Gently.

And singing him a lullaby he invented himself.
Gently, softly and comforting. That melody that will feel you comfortable.

The same atmosphere where I let him lie on my tummy. Or on my lap while tapping him lightly.
"Sleep na anak" and sing him a soft melody every night.

Now he was the one doing it. To his daddy.

I just stood there. Laundry in my hands. Heart full.
Eyes teary and not dared to move so I will not break the moment.

Indeed...
Whatever you show your kids, whatever love you give them, they will reflect it back.

To you. To their dad or to the world. He learned how to comfort because he was comforted first.

And watching him give that same love
to his daddy?

That’s the sweetest thing
a mom could ever witness. 💛

POV: Having a kid with you doesn't mean a secured seat 😅

Yesterday. 40-minute train ride. With my 4 year son.

It's a weekend so less frequent trains for public transportations. Crowded. Standing room only in most cases.

I carried him. Stood by the door where I could lean and hold him safely. In my head I am praying "Please, sana may magpaupo"

In front of us: 4 guys, in their late 20s or 30s.
Me: *sending telepathic signals* May bata po dito. Paupo naman 😂
Stops passed. 1... 2... 3...
Nobody moved. Nobody offered 😅

My son started to complain.
Bb: *covered his ears* Mommy, they are talking loudly, I don't like it.

We don't shout at home. So I just hugged him tighter and whispered.

After 5-7 stops, I put him down.
Me: Anak, just hug to mommy, I'll hug you too. I'm here with you, you will be safe, okay?
Bb: *looked at me and gave me a smile and said* opo mommy.

Bless him. No tantrums. No complains.
Just held on, and studied the train map I gave him. Counting and reading each stops like a little conductor 🚆

In that moment I told myself:
"I need to learn how to drive.
So my son won't stand like this anymore."

But then I realized...
If we had a car,
he wouldn't be this curious.
He wouldn't know vehicle names.
He wouldn't be this observant.
He wouldn't love transportation history.
He woudn't be exposed to the reality.

So yeah. We'll still take the train.
Even if it means 40 min to 1 hour standing.

Because the discomfort of today will be the drive to do better tomorrow.

And because of that 40-min standing marathon?
Daddy made pizza for dinner 🥰
Reward for my little commuter.

To all the moms abroad doing the same:
I see you. Standing, carrying, praying for a seat.
You're doing amazing.
