“Silent Shout” was the email address I made back in my college years.

I wanted something that felt like me- loud on the inside, quiet on the outside. At that time, I felt like I had too many thoughts, too many things I wanted to say, but I didn’t really know how to let them out in real life.

So I chose silence, but not the peaceful kind. More like a silence that’s still full of noise.

That’s also why I started writing basic blogs back then, and I wrote them in Filipino because that was the language I felt most comfortable using. It became my way of letting the “shout” out. Slowly, privately, in words instead of voice.

Looking back, I guess I wasn’t trying to be silent. I was just trying to find a way to be heard without being loud.

I thought I could multitask.

I turned on the stove to cook eggs for my dinner, then suddenly remembered the laundry was already done, so I went to take the clothes out of the washer and hang them up. After that, I noticed the floor was wet, so I thought I should mop it too.

About five minutes later, I finally remembered, oh right, I left the stove on with the pan heating up.

When I went back inside the house, it was already filled with smoke because I had left it unattended. 💀

Lesson learned: I’m not as good at multitasking as I thought I was. 🤡

Even if it’s a shaky, messy, "I don't know what I'm doing" kind of yes.
