💥 NEW – SAVE UP TO €450 ON A NEW APPLIANCE! 💥

If you’re thinking about replacing an old fridge, freezer, washing machine, dishwasher or other eligible appliance, take a look at the new Plan Renove de Electrodomésticos from the Gobierno de Canarias.

The scheme is NOW OPEN and offers financial help towards replacing older appliances with more energy-efficient models.

💶 Discounts from €70 up to €250 per appliance
💶 Up to €450 for people in vulnerable situations
🏠 Available to residents across the Canary Islands
5️⃣ You can replace up to 5 appliances per person
♻️ Your old appliance must be removed and correctly recycled.

⚠️ IMPORTANT: You need to apply for your voucher BEFORE you buy your new appliance, and the purchase must be made through one of the participating retailers.

Fuerteventura has been allocated €88,000 in the initial funding, and the scheme is subject to funds remaining – so if you’re planning to replace an appliance, it’s worth checking now.

You know what its like, an old pair of glasses that you intend to have new lenses in but then fashion changes… your ears get too big :) your nose wont hold the glasses up :)

Or sunglasses that the leg went a bit wonky on, and you want to get them fixed, but time just ain’t on your side and by then you’e replaced them…

Why not donate them via Multioptica who in association with Lions International will reuse and recycle them! Since 2015 they have accepted over 200,000 pairs of glasses to go on to be used all over the world by someone in need.

So, why not have that clear out and get the glasses recycled!

🌴 Are you living in Fuerteventura? Then learning Spanish isn’t just helpful — it’s absolutely essential!

Stronger Together with Oscar the spanish teacher are offering a unique opportunity to start from zero and build your confidence in Spanish.

If you are already on the Spanish speaking ladder and need to move up a step, then dont worry they have that covered too.

Classes go from absolute beginners (A0) right up to B2 level (don’t worry if this doesn’t make sense, we can explain all that easily when you enquire.

The teacher Oscar is brilliant. Last year they saw so many students stay with him right through the course – because he makes learning Spanish something you actually want to come back to each week.

And new for this year, they are also taking Spanish out of the classroom too!

Who can remember when we featured an article on 'solo holidays' specifically to the Island?

Posting the link again to the article as have lots of people asking about Solo holidays.

You will recall we spoke with Corralejo Solo Travellers ☀️☀️☀️ at the time had 1300 members. This has now vastly grown to over 5000+ whilst Fuerteventura solo travellers has just shy of 9000 members, so there is clearly a demand for flying solo to Fuerte!

The great thing about the groups is the meet ups and solidarity, whether thats a beer on the beach, tapas on a Tuesday, a walk on a Wednesday or lazing by a pool anyway, theres probably someone looking for someone to do just that same thing.

Do you remember our article about the Fashion School in Corralejo? Looking for a creative way to practise your Spanish outside the classroom?

The Escuela de Moda de Fuerteventura is offering a nine-month Fashion Design course starting 22 September.

Learn essential design and production processes in a diverse, collaborative environment — from trend research, illustration and pattern cutting to garment construction. Explore womenswear, menswear, swimwear and childrenswear while discovering fashion that reclaims cultural heritage and embraces innovative styles.

Classes are taught in Spanish, with bilingual teachers, English support and an English course manual.

The Roots of the World 2026 Project was born from the idea of ​​organizing a two-day multicultural event where each community living in the municipality showcases its culture and sports, its music, dance, and gastronomy.

A shared experience, a blend of cultures that reinforces the values ​​of respect, integration, equality, diversity, tolerance, and solidarity in our community.

Being different is not an offense or a defect; it is an asset and an opportunity for personal growth.

The 2 day event kicks off from Midday 29th August carrying on till Midnight and then a little more chilled version on the Sunday afternoon finishing at 3pm.

Caleta de Fuste is the place to be this weekend with its annual beach party which always delivers a great weekend of fun, food, drinks and music!

Kicking off from 230pm on Friday and carrying on until 330pm on Sunday morning, the days are filled with all sorts of entertainment for all ages!

Did you know a total solar eclipse will occur on Wednesday, August 12, 2026.

It is a pretty historic event, as it is the first total solar eclipse visible from the Iberian Peninsula in over a century.

In conjunction between Museos de Fuerteventura - Cabildo de Fuerteventura Cabildo de Fuerteventura this whole day event event (until 5am) has been organised and it’s Free!
