The Upadated Route V2. This route takes us through the diversity of the Sous region, not only exposing us to Amazigh groups, but the region is scattered with archaeological sites and presents geographic diversity. Unfortunately the mountainous passes may be difficult and some people may be still affected by the earthquake, so we must be mindful and respectful of this. This will be the first series we anticipate on piloting with . I will probably then solo through the rest to potentially cover the Tamazight and Rif regions myself. Geographic subdivision of Morocco with associated Amazigh pictures based on what I could find online. The subdivisions appear to be influenced by geography, but other factors, specifically tribal affiliation and language appear to also come into play. FYI for my Moroccan followers, the last map was cut off so I made a cheeky personal edit. Let me know your thoughts

Granada, located in southern Spain, was a crucial center during the period of Muslim rule in the Iberian Peninsula. At the time of its conquest in 1492, it had a substantial Muslim population, estimated to be around 150,000 to 200,000 people. Following the Catholic Monarchs’ victory, many Muslims were expelled or forcibly converted to Christianity. Many of the elite at this time left, but those who stayed and converted became known as the Morisco.

The Moriscos were Muslims who had converted to Christianity but were still viewed with suspicion by the Spanish Crown. Despite their conversion, they faced discrimination and persecution. In 1609, King Philip III issued a decree expelling the Moriscos from Spain, resulting in a significant exodus and dispersal of this population.

The expelled Moriscos faced a challenging fate as they were uprooted from their homes and communities. Many sought refuge in North Africa, particularly in cities like Algiers and Tunis, where they joined existing Muslim populations. Some Moriscos settled in other European countries, such as France and the Ottoman Empire, contributing to the dispersion of their culture and knowledge.

This expulsion had a lasting impact on Granada and the broader region, as it led to a loss of cultural diversity and a decline in the Muslim influence that had characterized the area for centuries.

Toledo was not only the former capital of Spain, but also that of the visigoths, and the Muslim taifa of Toledo. As a matter of fact this photo is taken next to one of the oldest mosques in Spain, let alone Europe. It dates back to around 990 CE
