ATTITUDE Interior Design is a bimonthly international magazine focused on Interiors, Architecture, Design, Art and Lifestyle, with a worldwide distribution and based in Porto, Portugal. With our contents we share inspiring and beautiful stories in order to truly involve our readers with the projects, the places and the individuals that we publish. Our features aim to be as much ‘personal’ as possible, based most of the times on a ‘lived experience’ so that the final result becomes much more intimate and familiar for those who reads us. We develop our own photo shootings, inspired on the theme of each issue, using different kinds of paper and textures, bringing new experiences to the printed edition and inviting everyone to live it and feel it in a unique way.

In this issue, we begin with a word that automatically evokes a sense of seclusion: Private. There’s a part of us that only exists behind closed doors. Not because we try to make the outside world disappear, but because we no longer feel the need to respond to it. This is the space where ideas mature and where identity can reveal itself, away from the noise.

It was precisely this that led us to explore the worlds behind those who dedicate themselves to shaping other realities. As we wandered through these places, an idea struck us: there will never be a formula, and even less so a single answer to what defines us. There are simply unique people. The way they look, the way they cherish things, the way they choose, the way they surround themselves… In an era where so much is replicated like an echo of external reality, we invite you, through these pages, to step into spaces of every colour. To inevitably set aside the need for validation or mass audiences. A journey through places where scale encounters the BEING that brings it to life.

Nesta edição partimos de uma palavra que, automaticamente, remete para recolhimento: Private. Há uma parte de nós que só existe quando a porta se fecha. Não pela procura de fazer desaparecer o mundo lá fora, mas porque deixamos de sentir a necessidade de lhe responder. É nesse espaço que as ideias amadurecem e que a identidade se revela sem ruído.

Foi precisamente tudo isso que nos fez ir à descoberta dos universos que estão por detrás de quem se dedica a dar forma a outras realidades. Ao deambular por estes locais, uma ideia atravessou-nos: jamais haverá uma fórmula, muito menos uma só resposta para aquilo que nos define. Existem apenas pessoas únicas. A forma como olham, como guardam, como escolhem, como se rodeiam…Numa era em que tanta coisa se repete como um eco da realidade exterior, convidamo-lo, nestas páginas, a entrar em espaços de todas as cores. Enveloped by ancient trees and lush vegetation, Rumah Rubah unfolds as a sanctuary of rare tranquillity, where architecture seems to emerge organically from the landscape. Conceived by Maximilian Jencquel, the house weaves a quiet dialogue between the Balinese spirit and the refined restraint of Japanese sensibility. Light filters softly through the spaces, while nature moves freely around them, creating an atmosphere of stillness, intimacy and weightlessness.

Envolvido por árvores centenárias e uma vegetação luxuriante, Rumah Rubah revela-se como um refúgio de rara tranquilidade, onde a arquitetura parece nascer organicamente da paisagem. Concebida por Maximilian Jencquel, a casa estabelece um diálogo subtil entre o espírito balinês e a contenção depurada da sensibilidade japonesa. A luz percorre suavemente os espaços, enquanto a natureza se move livremente em seu redor, criando uma atmosfera de quietude, intimidade e leveza.

In Todos Santos, Baja California Sur, the Nereidas project transforms the experience of inhabiting the desert into a mirage that seems to dissolve into the landscape. Designed by Raquel Font of Studiofont, the villa offers a new vision of hospitality: a hotel conceived to embrace its guests like a home, while quietly receding into its surroundings.

“More than a bar, a suspended piece, the Cloud…”

Some objects, conceived to fulfil a specific function, can develop a profound relationship with the place they inhabit. Rather than simply occupying a space, they transform it - shaping its perception, introducing a new sense of scale, suggesting movement, and at times conveying an idea or narrative. Through this relationship, they become an integral part of the place itself.

It is from this premise that Cloud, by Pablo Pérez Palacios & Katerina Alatzia, was born - a piece that lifts away from the floor and, suspended from the wall, appears to defy gravity and float within the space.
Designed as a bar or storage unit, Cloud asserts a presence that extends far beyond its functional purpose. Light passes through the translucent door panels, giving the piece a sculptural quality whose appearance shifts according to the light, the time of day and its surroundings.

The sliding doors encourage a fluid relationship with the space, while the combination of polycarbonate panels and Krion surfaces creates a subtle dialogue between transparency, materiality and tactility.

Alguns objetos, concebidos para responder a uma determinada função, possuem a capacidade de estabelecer uma relação profunda com o lugar que habitam. Para além de o ocupar, transformam-no: alteram a sua percepção, introduzem uma nova escala, sugerem movimento e, por vezes, veiculam uma ideia ou uma narrativa. Tornando-se, assim, parte da sua essência.

É a partir desta premissa que nasce Cloud, de Pablo Pérez Palacios e Katerina Alatzia - uma peça que se desprende do chão e, suspensa na parede, parece desafiar o peso e flutuar no espaço.

Pensado como bar ou unidade de arrumação, Cloud afirma uma presença que ultrapassa largamente a sua dimensão funcional. A luz atravessa os painéis translúcidos das portas, conferindo-lhe uma expressão escultórica, cuja aparência se transforma em função da hora e da envolvente.

As portas de correr favorecem uma relação fluida, enquanto a conjugação dos painéis de policarbonato com as superfícies em Krion estabelecem um diálogo entre transparência, matéria e tactilidade.

Suspended at the level of the treetops, the AC Apartment in São Paulo establishes an intimate relationship with the nature that surrounds it.

Designed by Kiko Castello Branco Arquitetura , the project is organised around a central winter garden, creating a subtle dialogue between light, materiality and landscape. Timber, marble and pieces from different eras coexist with effortless harmony, shaping a timeless atmosphere designed to transcend generations.

An architecture defined by restraint and delicacy, where every choice contributes to a more sensitive experience of living.

Suspenso à altura das copas das árvores, o Apartamento AC, em São Paulo, estabelece uma relação íntima com a natureza que o envolve.

Assinado por Kiko Castello Branco Arquitetura , o projeto organiza-se em torno de um jardim de inverno central, num diálogo subtil entre luz, matéria e paisagem. A madeira, o mármore e peças de diferentes épocas convivem com naturalidade, construindo uma atmosfera intemporal, capaz de atravessar gerações.

Uma arquitetura que se afirma pela contenção e pela delicadeza, onde cada escolha contribui para uma experiência mais sensível de habitar.

In Trancoso, Casa Itapororoca, designed by BLOCO ARQUITETOS , establishes a delicate dialogue between the built object and the tropical climate.

Perched above a natural slope, amid the dense Atlantic Forest, the house opens towards the ocean, allowing its surroundings to become part of the domestic experience: air moves freely through the spaces, light travels across the timber, and the covered veranda creates a rhythm between shade and sun, indoors and outdoors, intimacy and contemplation.

Here, inhabiting the space means asking time to slow down. Allowing the days to unfold to the rhythm of the breeze, the vegetation and the sea; lingering over a conversation in the shade, walking barefoot through the house, or simply remaining still before the landscape. A simple shelter where architecture does not seek to dominate nature, but to draw closer to it - until it almost disappears.

Em Trancoso, a Casa Itapororoca, assinada pelo BLOCO ARQUITETOS , estabelece um diálogo delicado entre o objeto construído e o clima tropical.

Implantada no alto de um talude natural, no meio da densidade da Mata Atlântica, a casa abre-se ao oceano e deixa que o cenário envolvente faça parte da experiência doméstica: o ar atravessa os espaços, a luz percorre a madeira e a varanda alpendrada, estabelecendo uma cadência entre sombra e sol, interior e exterior, intimidade e contemplação.

Aqui, habitar o espaço significa pedir ao tempo para desacelerar. Permitir que os dias se organizem ao ritmo da brisa, da vegetação e do mar; prolongar uma conversa à sombra, atravessar a casa descalço, ou simplesmente permanecer diante da paisagem. Um abrigo simples onde a arquitetura não procura dominar a natureza, mas aproximar-se dela - até quase desaparecer.

In Mexico City, PPAA conceives Casa Plan de Barrancas through an elementary yet decisive operation: opening the base to the exterior and concentrating intimacy within a suspended volume. Between the two, a void emerges that is not residual, but rather the true organising principle of the dwelling.

The project stems from a careful reading of the site. The vegetation, the relationship with the street and, above all, the presence of a large jacaranda become active agents in defining the architecture.

Na Cidade do México, PPAA concebe a Casa Plan de Barrancas a partir de uma operação elementar, mas decisiva: abrir a base ao exterior e concentrar a intimidade num volume suspenso. Entre ambos estabelece-se um vazio que não é residual, mas o verdadeiro princípio orientador da habitação.

O projeto nasce da leitura atenta do lugar. A vegetação, a relação com a rua e, sobretudo, a presença de uma grande jacarandá tornam-se agentes ativos na definição da arquitetura.

Reflecting the Douro’s mountainous and sinuous landscape, Quinta de Adorigo Winery, in Tabuaço, takes the hillside as the starting point for a contemporary winery designed by Atelier Sérgio Rebelo and integrated into a family-run wine tourism project.

The building follows the natural movement of the terrain, allowing the topography itself to shape its form. Horizontal and curved lines extend the patterns of the vineyards and the geometry of the surrounding landscape, creating an architecture that maintains a continuous dialogue with its setting.

Como um reflexo da paisagem montanhosa e sinuosa do Douro, a Quinta de Adorigo Winery, em Tabuaço, encontra na encosta o ponto de partida para uma adega contemporânea, projetada pelo Atelier Sérgio Rebelo e integrada num projeto familiar de enoturismo.

O edifício acompanha o movimento natural do terreno, deixando que a própria topografia determine a sua forma. Linhas horizontais e curvas prolongam o desenho das vinhas e a geometria do cenário envolvente, criando uma arquitetura que mantém um diálogo contínuo com o território.
