Is Ibiza losing its soul? 😮‍💨💔

For several months, voices have been raised against the many changes affecting Ibiza.

The introduction of paid parking to access the Es Vedra viewpoint, the end of DJ sets at the legendary chiringuito Sa Trinxa, the supervision of drums during the sunset in Benirras (even if it seems that everything is back to normal for the latter)...

So many unmissable places and moments of the wild soul of Ibiza that are gradually disappearing, often in favor of luxurious and expensive places... Give us your opinion in the comments!

Cinema under the stars is back in Ibiza! The “Cinema at the Beach” event returns this summer to Cala Llonga beach for three family screenings to enjoy with your feet in the sand. Kicking off this Sunday, July 20 at 9:15 p.m. with Despicable Me 4 (2024). Next up are Encanto on August 10 and Coco on August 23—classics for all ages.

Supported by , , and Cala Llonga Neighborhood association, the event is free, but profits from drinks and donations will go directly to the Ibiza and Formentera Cancer Association (IFCC). A good cause, a good movie, and a night under the stars: what more could you ask for?

In Ibiza, the speed camera located at kilometer 9 of the highway between Ibiza and Sant Antoni continues to flash away. With 39,202 fines issued in 2024, it remains one of the most feared in Spain. Although this figure is slightly down on 2023 (45,001 fines), it still represents an average of 107 fines per day, or one every 12 minutes. Enough to make speed demons nervous.

This speed camera alone breaks several records in the Balearic Islands: it generates more fines than several speed cameras combined on the other islands. By way of comparison, the one in Mallorca that comes next “only” recorded 7,094 offenses. Two other speed cameras in Ibiza, on the EI-200 and EI-700 roads, are also in the regional top 10.

Nationally, Madrid remains in first place with a speed camera that has issued 74,873 fines. But Ibiza retains the title of the country’s most unforgiving island speed camera.

It’s one of the most eagerly awaited places of the summer in Ibiza: is finally arriving on the white island, in a corner of paradise nestled between Santa Gertrudis and San Rafael.
