Join me for two weeks of solo sailing along the stunning coast of Sardinia aboard our Liveaboard Lagoon 440 catamaran, Kaia.
With Vika away in Ibiza, it’s just me and the dogs exploring hidden anchorages, navigating changing winds, and soaking up the magic of this rugged coastline.

From raising the Italian courtesy flag to chasing rainbows over Perda Longa, these solo days at sea were filled with quiet moments, breezy sails, and plenty of dog walks ashore.
After finding shelter from strong winds near Porto Columbu, I finally made it safely into Marina del Sole—rounding off an incredible stretch of sailing on my own.

In just a few days, Vika will return and together we’ll head into Cagliari to prepare for our biggest passage yet: leaving the EU behind and setting sail across to Tunisia, our first step onto another continent.

We’re nearing the end of our very first season aboard our Lagoon 440 Kaia, and what a journey it’s been – nearly 1,000 nautical miles sailed from Spain to Ibiza, Mallorca, Menorca, and now beautiful Sardinia. In this episode, we slow the pace and explore the rugged eastern coastline, finding quiet anchorages, rustic beaches, and hidden coves far from the tourist trail.

Sailing from Mallorca to Sardinia | Sailing Sacred Seas
In this episode, we leave the stunning island of Mallorca behind and set off on our longest offshore passage yet—36 hours non-stop aboard our Lagoon 440 catamaran KAIA, bound for the wild western coast of Sardinia.

With glassy seas and little wind, we motor-sail through the open Mediterranean, encountering sea turtles, dolphins, curious dragonflies, and the most magical sunsets and starry skies we’ve seen so far. This was also our first night sail together, a huge milestone in our journey as a liveaboard sailing couple (and dogs!).

We reflect on how far we’ve come—leaving the UK, sailing the coast of Spain, exploring the Balearic Islands (Ibiza, Mallorca, Menorca), and learning every day how to navigate, sail, and live aboard full-time.

Whether you're dreaming of setting sail yourself or just love watching slow travel by sea, join us as we cross open water, live simply, and chase the horizon with our little crew—including our sailing dogs!
