“AI will replace producers”
You’ve probably heard it everywhere by now.
But here’s the reality , AI can generate sounds, patterns, even full tracks…
But what it can’t generate is identity.
Music isn’t just about arranging drums or writing basslines. It’s about taste, intention, and lived experience.
AI doesn’t grow up on dancefloors.
It doesn’t feel tension at 4AM when a room is locked in.
It doesn’t take risks based on instinct.
It doesn’t have culture, roots, or story.
Every great record carries something deeper:
– the environment it was made in
– the influences behind it
– the imperfections that make it human
– the decisions that shouldn’t work, but do
AI works on probability.
Artists work on feeling.
And feeling isn’t predictable.
Underground music - especially - has always been about pushing against formulas, not following them. The moment everything becomes “perfect,” it loses its soul.
Tools will evolve. They always have.
Drum machines didn’t replace drummers.
DAWs didn’t replace studios.
AI won’t replace artists.
It will just separate those who create with intention…
from those who don’t.
Ignore the noise.
Stay original.
Stay human.
