Michael Bibi has announced that this seasons Solid Grooves will be a no phone zone after a successful trial run last season. 🤍

The co-run brand of Bibi and Pawsa has a 18 event run this season, and it will be completely phone free. Fear not, you can still get your snaps for socials, but you’ll be using a Polaroid instead. 🎞️

Based on the vibe last season, we’re personally loving this decision.

The winter has flown by and somehow it’s only three days until Mambo re-opens for the 2026 season. How did that come around so quickly?

After a dark, gloomy, storm filled winter on the island, the sun is finally shining and the sunset spot is ready to open its doors. 🤍

It’s the 32nd opening for the island icon. Could it be the best season yet?

Will we see ya there? 🫶

Pacha’s CEO Aloki Batra joined Mau P behind the booth last night for the DJ’s Baddest Behaviour closing party. It’s always nice to see the people behind the scenes at the parties too. 🫶

It’s the Dutch “Drugs From Amsterdam” DJ’s first Ibiza residency and it’s been a standout for us this year.

Aside from the CEO, he’s been joined by Henrik Schwarz, Nic Fanciulli, Mano Le Tough, Kölsch, and Anna Tur just to name a few.

What a first year. Who made it over?

Don’t ask us how it’s happened… but this was 19 years ago. We feel as confused at Norman looks. How did that happen?

The world lost a house music icon last week, as Chicago-house legend Ron Carroll passed away at fifty-seven.

Starting in his early years as a choir boy, Carroll’s unmistakable voice became one of the defining sounds of house music with tracks like Lucky Star with Superfunk and Back Together with Hardsoul; records that quickly became much-loved, worldwide anthems. ♥️

Nicknamed “The Minister of Sound, he was the brains behind endless tracks writing for and working with Barbara Tucker, Huxley, CeCe Pen*ston, Hot Since 82, David Guetta, Axwell, Bob Sinclar, Defected, Glitterbox, and Pacha… just to name a few.

And, if you were in Ibiza in the early 2000s, you’ll probably know Ron Carroll’s voice all too well. He was the soundtrack to many of our early days and late nights that always turned into early mornings… and then some.

RIP Ron Carroll. Thanks for the music. 🤍

Ibiza Time Capsule: 1983 🍹✨

It’s 1983. Pikes Hotel has only been open for three years. George Michael lounges on a pool float, cocktail in hand, speedos practically sprayed on, while Andrew Ridgeley splashes around in the pool. Shirley Kemp and Dee C. Lee are strutting their stewardess moves, while Tony Pike glides by in a silk robe, pouring drinks… and probably plotting some mischief. 👀

Fun Fact: Club Tropicana was inspired by the chaos of 18-30 club holidays. 😂

Tony Pike later claimed he and George Michael shared a “tender and passionate” night before filming. “He was such a good-looking c***,” Pike wrote, adding, “What a f***ing waste!” when George revealed he was gay. But we wouldn’t have expected anything else from Tony, would we?

We hope the lads are having just a much fun in the aftelife. 🤍

Can’t dispute it; Pikes is an Ibizan icon. If you haven’t been… have you even been to Ibiza?!

Between iPhones and instant everything, Carl Cox has watched the dance floor change. 📱

Back in 2017, in the aftermath of Space closing, Carl let everyone know what his thoughts about phones in the club were...

“When you went to Ibiza, you never had your phone with you, you’d leave your phone at home and you wouldn’t use it, and you went away for a week, and you had the time of your life. Whereas now everything is name-dropping, and where are you and what are you doing now, here’s a selfie, here’s a boomerang shot. As soon as you go on the turntables, the first thing you see go up are phones.”

“Whereas before everyone would start dancing, excited to hear some music, and now all you’re getting is wobbly videos and distortion – telling all your friends, ‘wow look at that, look at the great summer I was having – on my phone, which I’ve dropped now and everyone’s stomping on it, now I’ve got to buy a new phone’.”

Eight years on, and many parties seem to have had enough of phones, with Solid Grooves, Keinemusik, Pikes, and more banning them at their events this year.
