VACANTS es una banda valenciana de hardcore metal activa desde 2016, que ha sabido forjar su identidad a base de crudeza, compromiso y una ética DIY. Con un álbum y un doble single lanzado a finales de 2022, el grupo dio un giro revitalizador a su trayectoria, marcando el inicio de una etapa más intensa y expansiva.

Desde entonces, han desplegado su energía en directo tanto en su ciudad natal como en plazas clave del circuito underground como Madrid, Castellón o Vitoria, donde diversos colectivos han contado con ellos para incendiar escenarios y sumar fuerza a la escena.

Ahora presentan Life’s Collapse, un nuevo EP de cuatro cortes grabado entre el enfoque casero y el trabajo en estudio —baterías registradas en Ajolote Estudios bajo la supervisión de Carles Delgado, y mezcla/master a cargo de Guillermo Sanz. El resultado: un vinilo negro de 7” a 33 rpm que encapsula su sonido más afilado y visceral hasta la fecha.

Sunniva Unleashes Mercurial Bloodstreams: A Devastating Reflection on Technological Dystopia

⚫️ Turku-based sludge metal band Sunniva releases “Mercurial Bloodstreams,” a harrowing new track from their debut album, “Hypostasis,” that challenges the illusions of progress and freedom in the modern age.

Through thunderous riffs, monolithic rhythms, and guttural howls, “Mercurial Bloodstreams” confronts society’s relentless pursuit of technological advancement: a journey promised as a path to liberation, but one that often entangles humanity in deep webs of oppression. Sunniva dissects the myth of progress and questions the very nature of freedom.

“We’re constantly sold the dream of freedom,” the band states, “but the reality is that few understand what true freedom is, or if it can even exist.”

Sunniva formed in 2016 out of a shared yearning for the pure sonic power of heavy music. The band’s name, derived from the Old English word Sunngifu, meaning “gift of the sun,” hints at the darkness and light intertwined in their sound.

Blurring the lines between death doom, sludge, and post-metal, Sunniva evokes the same seismic intensity as titans like Amenra, Neurosis, and Dark Buddha Rising. Their previous releases—The Holy Mountain (2017), the self-titled EP (2020), and the sprawling single This Reality Only Speaks in Blood (2018)—have cemented their reputation for creating immersive and moving soundscapes. VACANTS is a metallic hardcore punk band from Valencia, formed in 2016 by members of the local scene (Wasabi, Laid). After years of intermittent activity, they reinvigorated their career in 2023 with the release of an EP and a double single, marking the beginning of a more active and established phase.

Since then, the group has performed in various cities such as Valencia, Madrid, Castellón, and Vitoria, sharing the stage with bands such as Wormrot, Svdestada, Vibora, Crossed, Bayou La Batre, and Constrict, invited by underground collectives committed to their raw and direct approach.

On July 20th, VACANTS will release their new work: "LIFE'S COLLAPSE," a four-track EP that develops and perfects their characteristic rough and hard-hitting sound. Recorded somewhere between a DIY approach and Ajolote Estudios, the album was mixed and mastered by Guillermo Sanz.

"LIFE'S COLLAPSE" alternates lyrics in English and Valencian and addresses themes such as abuse, exploitation, nihilism, defeat, and illness. With this release, VACANTS seeks to continue leaving its mark on the Spanish hardcore and punk scene, once again shining a spotlight on the Valencian scene.
