After a goodbye with Philippe in a windy and cloudy morning, we continued south and took a break between Igherm and Taroudant. We skipped Taliouine but still had a beautiful drive.
About 30 km before Agadir, we stopped in the charming rural commune of Gfifat (Lagfifat) in Taroudant province, where we picked up fresh produce at low prices.
Arriving in lively Agadir felt like a vibrant contrast after the peaceful mountains in Tizi n'Haroun and relaxed Tata. We quickly loaded up on groceries and headed to our stunning wild camping spot at Tifnit beach.
Just 30 minutes later, two friendly military officers stopped by, impressed we had come from Tata. They welcomed us and assured us we could camp safely for the night.
We woke up to the soothing sound of waves, local fishermen, and surfers, with a camel grazing in front of our Dirty Panda — pure magic!
After a pleasant 3-hour drive from the beautiful Tifnit sand dunes, we set up camp early in Assaka for a relaxing evening. We had a lovely breakfast the next day and headed out at 11am to explore the spectacular Plage Blanche dunes. Thomas dropped the tire pressure to 1.2 bar, and with high tide approaching at 14:30, we felt confident.
The dunes were breathtaking, but when the engine started losing power, we calmly decided to turn back rather than losing our home on wheels to the ocean. By 14:00 we were safely out — a quite tense moment, but we handled it well and learned a useful lesson for next time!
A quick 40-minute drive took us to Tantan, where we gave Dirty Panda a refreshing wash and I happily bought new slippers. The old pair, fixed in Norway, had survived Erg Chebbi but vanished in Plage Blanche!
We then continued to Ksar Tafnidilt for a wonderful two-night stay at a beautiful desert camp. There we met a friendly French group in their Toyota during our first night stay, shared travel stories and wine under the stars, and ended the day relaxing after a memorable adventure filled with stunning landscapes and good lessons.
Onward with smiles!
