Another end of May bank holiday is done and the hottest one on record till date in London!
Which also (un)officially marks the start of summer festivals for many stakeholders. Especially for music lovers like me - getting to savour multiple genres & scenes. Albeit this time in 30+ degrees.
But one memory will forever be etched in eternity, after over 2+ decades of following his discography; his live performances; his radioshows and releases; to even publicly acknowledging that he is the reason I wanted to immerse myself in the industry since hearing his DJ Mag set of 2012 at Ministry of Sound, yes I have an audio for that till this day ..
I got a few private moments with the man, the myth and the legend. Mostly restraining to unleash the full extent of my fanboy (yes I still have those occasional surreal moments even now) - only to be told to speak openly and without hesitation, as someone who's been on the journey with him to global superstardom for that length of time, shoulder to shoulder, as an equal.
To address the elephant in the room, some (including me) may feel that his music has expanded into more commercially appealing sounds. But no one can deny all that he has done for Trance Music. Mine and many others' first true love in Electronic Music. An immortal legacy.
