Throughout the series, the show has explored fascinating corners of underground music, diving into subjects such as bloghouse, the underground hits of 2012, a conversation with Amanda Kramer (co-founder of Not Not Fun / 100% Silk), a retrospective on the hi-DEF doom aesthetic coined by Dr. Adam Harper, and the sound of South Florida dance music 🕯️🦊

Today, the series comes to a close with a special episode dedicated to chillwav: “In 2009, many a blogger made their bones breaking new bedroom dwellers vying to craft the gauziest, most sunburnt pop possible. That summer, glo-fi glowed up to dazzle as chillwave before soon washing away in the hype cycle’s vicissitudes. The network-native microgenre was built on Swedish plunderphonics, LA beat scene sidechain technology, shoegazing dissociation, and a borrowed nostalgia for the unremembered 80s, wrapped in wet, lomographic blur for extra bloggability. Under the influence of low level hyperthermic madness induced by Barcelona’s current heat wave, host bunny raver takes you back to chillwave’s halcyon days to trace it’s origins and influence, and just like ‘bliss out’ and ‘vibe’ to the ‘chill beats’ yall.”
