“For Some Nuns, Baking Is an Act of Devotion. In convents across Spain, the tradition of selling sweets is alive and well” written by
Inside Seville’s convents, tradition is still shaped by hand. Slow gestures passed down through generations. Sweets made in silence, exchanged through a wooden turnstile that preserves the nuns’ cloistered life.
We had the privilege of documenting the making of the famous yemas at the Convento de San Leandro in Seville and this world where faith, labor, and sweetness merge in the Andalusian light.
