‘Garden of the Gods’ is a personal and artistic interpretation of the pieces from the collection of the Museo Arqueológico Nacional (MAN) that have most deeply moved José Manuel Ballester's sensibility. Freehand drawings that bring us closer to the past without academicism or rhetoric. Memory and history captured through simple, fluid, and unprejudiced strokes. Masterpieces transformed by Ballester’s hand into sketches —both respectful and playful— that, with the gods’ permission, evoke a sense of closeness and empathy.
