As spring arrives to Spain so does the highly toxic 'oruga procesionaria' or Pine Processionary Caterpillar. The risk of coming across them is highest in pine forests, although they can be found anywhere that pine trees grow. If you are in these areas, do stay on the lookout, especially if you have children, who might try and pick them up, or dogs, who could try and eat them.
