Die spanischen LGBTQ+ Senioren kämpften in ihrer Jugend erst gegen die Diskriminierungen unter dem Diktator Franco. Und dann kam AIDS. Heute, im Alter, plagt sie noch eine Sorge: die auf ein glückliches Alter bei guter Gesundheit und fernab von prekären Lebensumständen.

Laut der Stiftung"26. Dezember"in Madrid, leben fast 70% der spanischen LGBTIQ+ Rentner nur von etwa 500 Euro im Monat. Im Laufe ihres Berufslebens wurden sie auf dem Arbeitsmarkt stark diskriminiert. Als Folge davon haben sie im Rentenalter nicht genügend Beitragsjahre eingezahlt, um eine volle Rente zu erhalten.

Zur Prekarität kommt noch die Diskriminierung hinzu. In Altenheimen müssen LGBTQ+ Senioren mit denjenigen zusammenleben, die sie einst verspottet haben. Um weiteres Leid zu vermeiden, ziehen sie es vor, sich zu verstecken und ihre sexuelle Identität zu verschweigen.

Um den Senioren der LGBTO+ Gemeinschaft einen glücklicheren Ruhestand zu ermöglichen, hat Federico Armenteros, Direktor der Stiftung"26. Dezember", beschlossen, das weltweit erste öffentliche Seniorenheim für LGBTQ+ Senioren zu bauen. Derzeit im Bau, könnte das Haus Ende des Jahres eröffnet werden.

🇫🇷 ARTE Regards - Seniors LGBT+ en Espagne 🇫🇷

Les seniors LGBT+ espagnols ont marqué l’histoire en luttant contre les discriminations du régime franquiste et des années sida, mais aujourd’hui ils s’attaquent à un nouveau combat : vivre une vieillesse heureuse, en bonne santé, et éloignés de la précarité.

Selon la fondation "26 décembre" de Madrid, qui aide les seniors de la communauté, près de 70% des retraités LGBTIQ+ espagnols vivent avec environ 500 euros par mois. Au cours de leur vie professionnelle, ils ont été victimes de fortes discriminations sur le marché de l’emploi. Résultat, arrivés à l’âge de la retraite, ils n’ont pas cotisé suffisamment d’années pour obtenir une pension complète. À la précarité, s'ajoutent les discriminations. Dans les maisons de retraite, les seniors LGBT doivent cohabiter avec ceux qui les ont autrefois moqués. Pour éviter de nouvelles souffrances, ils préfèrent se cacher et taire leur identité sexuelle. Pour offrir une retraite plus heureuse aux seniors de la communauté, Federico Armenteros, directeur de la fondation “26 décembre” a donc décidé de construire la première maison de retraite publique au monde pour les seniors LGBT. Actuellement en travaux, elle pourrait ouvrir ses portes fin 2024.
