Acmé

Acmé Music Label / Record Store Not more, not less... Just right there. What can we expect from Acmé, Alex Font's new record label?

Alex Font chose the fascinating word "Acmé” to name his new record project and it has a good meaning behind it too; it hasn't got that name just because it sounds good; it's not a way to make it look cool... at all. Acme comes from the Greek word ἀκμή which means "the highest point you can get" - and applying this word to the world of art means the highest point of perfection of a work of art. And

it's here where this Spanish DJ and producer, throws himself at the stormy fights of the album, from a very personal view, to impregnate his own values as an artist: Professionalism, reliability, sophistication and a tireless pursuit of maximum quality music. Acme, with a well constructed, timeless "modern art" image, only presents vinyl launches, up to 250 limited edition copies, which takes care of its extremely unexpected contents and continents. The "real house" -in very different and vast ways- already has a new form of expression and dissemenation/broadcast. This way, Alex Font has access to his own platform where he can create, express and publicise his music without any constraints, market dictatorships, nor any prebends, allowing him to take his artistic freedom to his own limits. However, Font's artistic position is always to be humble; it's used, essentially, as a channel of musical expression to the dance services and overall to the emotions. Only to be at its expected heights of its demanding and mind-blowing meaning...

🇬🇧 La Pobrecita — the story behind the track.

During a trip to Argentina, was introduced by some friends to the music of Mercedes Sosa. Back in Europe, he shared it with , who already knew her work and started digging deeper into her music.

That search eventually led them to "La Pobrecita", originally written by Atahualpa Yupanqui and later interpreted by Mercedes Sosa — a piece rooted in Tucumán and the lives, struggles and hopes of its working people.

From there, Alex and Barac started building their own piece around the vocal, bringing it into a different musical context while keeping a deep respect for its roots and original meaning.

In this reel, they tell the story in their own words.

La Pobrecita will be part of Acmé 15 — Apapachar LP, currently on its way.

More details about the record soon.

The artist behind Acmé 14.

Every Acmé release begins long before it reaches vinyl.
LUKEA first came to our attention through a series of demos, each one revealing a clear artistic identity and a deep understanding of groove. Among them, Mustang immediately stood out.

Over the following years, the track continued to evolve while being tested on dancefloors, proving itself time and time again before becoming part of Acmé 14.

In this post, we wanted to introduce the artist behind the release and share a glimpse into the journey that brought this record to life.

🇬🇧 Inside the mastering process.
Mastering is rarely about making dramatic changes.
Sometimes, the difference comes down to a single element. A kick with too much low end. A subtle balance adjustment. Small decisions that can completely change how a record feels on a sound system.

For Acmé 15, Alex Font, Barac and Pablo Schuller spent the day comparing different approaches, transferring the mixes to tape, listening carefully and choosing only what genuinely improved the music.

Every decision had the same purpose: to serve the record.
Over the coming weeks we’ll continue sharing more from the making of Acmé 15 – Apapachar LP.

🇬🇧 Why live musicians.
One of the defining elements of Acmé 15 is the presence of live musicians throughout the project.
Electronic music often relies on programmed patterns and repetition. Bringing musicians into the recording process introduced something different: interpretation, spontaneity and small variations that can only happen in a live performance.
For Alex Font and Barac, these details became an essential part of the record’s identity.
Acmé 15 continues to take shape. Over the coming weeks we’ll keep sharing more about the recording process, the mastering sessions and the ideas behind this project.

This is only the beginning.
