The GR221 long distance trail through the Serra de Tramuntana in Mallorca follows the mountain ridge from Andratx to Pollença through some of the finest limestone mountain scenery in the western Mediterranean, with views down to the sea on both sides in the highest sections and passing through ancient olive groves, hermitages, and mountain villages.

The full GR221 takes around 8 days to complete.

Those who walk the section between Valldemossa and Deia through the finest section of the Serra de Tramuntana, where the mountain drops almost directly to the sea and the traditional stone dry-walled terraces cover every available slope, describe it as the most beautiful and most dramatically situated mountain coastal walk available anywhere in the Spanish Mediterranean islands.
