Jan Edwards Restaurant of the Week:
Blanca Terra Montuïri - a new first for Mallorca’s wine scene!

Jan recently visited Restaurante Blanca Terra in Montuïri - notably the only winery on the island with a restaurant fully open to the public. Located right off the Ma15 (with plenty of easy parking!), it’s a smart space led by Chef Jacinto del Valle.

The menu is a poetic tribute to local flavors. Here’s what stood out from our lunch:
* Authentic Starts: Warm homemade Xeixa wheat bread served with local Finca Treuer olive oil.
* Creative Starters: The visually stunning beetroot ‘ravioli’ with goat cheese and the unique duck ‘sobrassada’ with orange marmalade.
* Hearty Mains: Generous portions of Mallorcan black pig cheeks and ‘Jaume I-style’ stuffed chicken.
* Sweet Finish: Apple cooked in various textures with ice cream.

The drink list stays strictly local—all wines are from the Blanca Terra estate, and even the soft drinks and spirits are Mallorcan. It’s a fledgling project with incredibly friendly service (shoutout to Joan, the maître!) and a great way to experience a bodega visit that goes beyond just a tasting.
