Today we are starting the day at Bikkini Beach, a Bali themed restaurant right by the sea, and the January sun already feels like a gentle promise of summer. It is one of those places where breakfast turns into brunch and conversation lingers longer than planned.

We are standing on the beach of Can Pastilla at Playa de Palma, and even with the clouds above us it feels like one of the most beautiful places on the island. The sand is soft and white, the sea glows in shades of turquoise blue, and today the waves move slowly and peacefully toward the shore.

There is something almost romantic about this quiet moment. The sound of the water is gentle and constant, like a soft rhythm that calms the mind. It feels hypnotic, almost meditative, as if time is moving a little slower here by the sea in Mallorca.

Today, January 3rd 2026, we are sitting at Münchner Kindl for lunch, one of those long-loved German restaurants that has been part of Playa de Palma since 1988. It sits right by the beach, with the sea just a few steps away, and there is something comforting about the atmosphere. Wooden tables, friendly faces, and the feeling that many stories have already been shared here over the years.

The menu reads like a little taste of home for anyone who misses traditional German cuisine while staying on Mallorca. Hearty dishes, generous portions, flavours that remind you of family dinners and weekends back in Germany. Some people say you should always eat Spanish food when you are on the island, others love the familiar tastes of schnitzel, sausages and potato salad. And somehow both ideas feel right, because Mallorca is a place where many cultures meet and happily exist side by side.

Temperatures sit around 15–16°C, perfect for a quiet walk along the shore or a coffee by the beach.
