🔥 The Fight Type
Trauma Response: Fight
The Fight response is often misunderstood.
It isn’t about being aggressive or “too much.”
It’s a protective strategy that develops when a child feels unsafe, unheard, or powerless —
and learns to regain control by pushing back.
Fight can show up as:
• Quick anger or frustration
• Feeling easily disrespected
• Hyper-independence
• Needing control to feel safe
• Intense reactions when boundaries are crossed
• Difficulty trusting others to “get it right”
• Feeling unsafe with vulnerability
• A strong instinct to defend yourself (even when you don’t need to)
This is not you being a bad person.
It’s a younger part of you trying to protect your heart the only way it knew how.
When the Fight response heals, you become:
• Clear and grounded in your power
• Able to communicate without intensity
• Calm in the face of conflict
• Safe within yourself
• Strong without being defensive
• Open, connected, and self-led
Your fire was never the problem.
It just needed direction, not suppression.
