🚧 Flood Prevention Works Planned for Costa Hispania Gran Alacant

The City Council has asked water provider Hidraqua to prepare a project aimed at reducing the risk of flooding in Costa Hispania, following issues caused by Storm Konrad in March. The project will be included in this year’s municipal budget.

Mayor Loreto Serrano and local councilors met with the homeowners’ association of Costa Hispania, Hidraqua, and technical staff to discuss the situation and explore possible solutions. Responsibilities for the improvements will be shared between the City Council and the association.

🌊🏊‍♂️ The 28th Edition of the Travesía a Nado Tabarca-Santa Pola Kicks Off!! ️

Oragnised by Club Deportivo Natación Alone, this renowned open water swimming event connects Tabarca Island to Varadero Beach in Santa Pola, covering approximately 5.9 km across the sea.

Recognised as one of the top 100 open water swims in the world and one of the largest in Spain, it attracts up to 1,400 participants each year.

🛟 Each swimmer is equipped with a chip, whistle, and safety buoy. The event is supported by a comprehensive safety team including kayaks, boats, lifeguards, and medical personnel.

🚶‍♀️❤️ CHUF Charity Walk to Santa Pola Lighthouse

The charity walk on Sunday 29th June raised a fantastic £277 (€320) in support of CHUF (Children’s Heart Unit Fund) – a UK-based charity supporting children with heart conditions and their families.

This local walk coincided with CHUF’s annual Toddle & Family Fun Day. A big thank you to everyone who donated!
