WATCH TILL THE END BEFORE COMMENTING
Today hit hard.
I’ve buried thousands upon thousands of people, and usually I get back out of the grave and continue the work.
But today… today was different.
Today we paused. We reflected.
We wanted to feel — even for a moment — what it might be like when our turn comes.
When we are the ones laid on our right side.
When the soil is beside our face.
When the world above keeps moving, but our chapter on earth has closed.
And in that position, wallahi, the only thing that comes to your mind are your shortfalls, your regrets, the apologies you never made, the prayers you delayed, the blessings you took for granted, and the deeds you wished you had done.
Today was a wake-up call…
Even for me — someone who sees graves every day, someone who buries the dead, someone who lives this reminder.
But today shook me.
My brothers and sisters, if someone who stands in graves daily can still be shaken, then what about us who rarely reflect?
Use this reminder.
Wake up before you are woken up.
“O you who believe, fear Allah. And let every soul consider what it has sent forward for tomorrow.” (Qur’an 59:18)
