LANZAROTE NEWS HEADLINES FOR MONDAY 27.10.25

The Cabildo of Lanzarote has approved a grant of 200.000 euros to help with Animal welfare on Lanzarote, One of the longest running animal charitie associations SARA will recieve 150.000 euros, and LanzaAnimal has been allocated 50.000 euros. The funding was agreed on Friday.

On Saturday a man died and another was seriously injured after falling from a height of six meters at a hotel in Costa Teguise. The injured person was transferred by ambulance to the Molina Orosa Hospital in Arrecife. The incident happened in the early hours of Saturday. Initial reports suggest that a railing gave way and both men fell almost 20 ft. One man was declared dead at the scene.

Yaiza and UD Lanzarote played their first derby match of the season on Saturday. It turned out to be a thriller in halloween season. The game ended Yaiza 3 UD Lanzarote 3, UD Lanzarote remain top of the league
