LANZAROTE NEWS HEADLINES FOR FRIDAY 19.12.25

A worker is in a serious condition after falling from a hotel which is under construction in Costa Teguise. The accident happpened shortly after 9am yesterday morning. The manager of the Security and Emergencies Consortium, Enrique Espinosa, said that the man had fallen from a distance of about eight meters, the worker was taken to hospital in a serious condition.

A motorcyclist has been injured in an accident involving two other cars at Lanzarote's César Marique Airport. The motorcycle was hit on the access road to the Airport. The incident happend yesterday afternoon. Emergency services soon arrived to the scene where the injured man was stabilized before being taken to the Arrecife general hospital.

Joint taxi services will be operating at Lanzarote airport during Christmas. The measure for taxis from other municipalities to provide their services will be strictly temporary and will have to be activated by the San Bartolomé City Council "when the queues reach the pedestrian crossing of Terminal 1

LANZAROTE NEWS HEADLINES FOR THURSDAY 18.12.25

A place in Lanzarote registered the lowest maximum temperature for the month of December since records began. Storm Emilia left icy temperatures on the island that, at the island's airport, have broken a record by reaching the lowest maximum temperature in almost fifty years. The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) The island's airport reached a maximum temperature of 15.5 degrees on Saturday the 13th, On the same day temperatures in Tias did not go any higher than 12.1 degrees. The minimum official recorded temperature on that day was also in the Municipality of Tias where it only reached 9.6 degrees.

The Road connecting Puerto Calero and Puerto del Carmen has now reopened to traffic. The road had been closed due to improvements being made to the road surface and also to the renovation of the water supply network. The works were given a budget close to 700.000 euros.
