The organizers of the Vigo International Piano Competition announce that registration is now open for its 10th edition, with a deadline of June 20, 2026.

The competition is open to pianists of all ages and nationalities and aims to promote the artistic development of both emerging and established performers. Participants will have the opportunity to compete for prestigious prizes, including a concert tour throughout Spain, as well as the chance to perform before an internationally renowned jury.

A new edition of the Vigo International Piano Competition is coming!

From the Galician Classical Music Association, organizer of the International Piano Competition “City of Vigo”, we would like to congratulate Canadian pianist Élisabeth Pion, who has just won Gold at the 2025 Honens International Piano Competition. Élisabeth won the “Rosalía de Castro” award at the 2024 edition of our competition, for the best performance of a work by a female composer. Congratulations, Élisabeth! We are proud of you.

We would like to sincerely congratulate Zitong Wang from China, who won the third prize (bronze medal) and the award for best performance of a Chopin sonata at the 19th Chopin Competition. She received an honorable mention at the 2018 Vigo International Piano Competition and was the winner of the 2022 Ferrol Piano Competition. We would also like to congratulate pianists Miyu Shindo and David Khrikuli, winners of the 2023 and 2024 editions of our Competition, for their wonderful performances at the Chopin Competition. We consider the participation of our winners in Vigo has been a great success. Congratulations to everyone, and keep the music flowing!
