The National Legal Adviser of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Kamaldeen Ajibade, has cautioned that the biggest threat to the party is from members who publicly identify as PDP but secretly align with other platforms. He described such individuals as “daytime PDP, night-time elsewhere” politicians, labeling them the most dangerous.

Ajibade, speaking on Arise Television’s Morning Show on Monday, said it would be unfair to single out former Rivers governor Nyesom Wike and the G5 group for PDP’s 2023 electoral defeat.

Hearing in a suit seeking to stop the David Mark-led leadership of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) stalled on Monday at the Federal High Court, Abuja. The setback followed the failure to serve court papers on David Mark and other defendants as required by law.

Justice Emeka Nwite, who is presiding over the party’s leadership dispute, adjourned the matter until September 30 for proper service and hearing. Counsel to the plaintiff, Michael Agber, however, insisted that all processes had been duly served.

Justice Musa Liman of the Federal High Court, Abuja, has declined to hear a motion filed by Biafra agitator Nnamdi Kanu. The motion sought an order for Kanu’s transfer from the custody of the Department of State Services (DSS) to the National Hospital, Abuja, for urgent medical attention.

The judge explained that his authority as a vacation judge expired on Monday, making him lack jurisdiction to hear fresh matters. He directed that the case file be returned to the Chief Judge for reassignment.

Guinness World Records has officially recognised Nigerian chef Hilda Baci for preparing the largest serving of Nigerian-style jollof rice. The record, announced via GWR’s X account, confirmed that Baci and Gino achieved 8,780 kg (19,356 lb 9 oz) of jollof rice in Lagos.

The feat took place during the “Gino World Jollof Festival” on September 12, 2025, at Eko Hotels and Suites, Victoria Island. The event attracted thousands of attendees, igniting massive social media buzz across Nigeria and beyond.

Former security guards, popularly known as Happie Boys, have publicly begged Apostle Gift Chinyere for forgiveness. They visited his Omega Power Ministries in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, on Sunday, September 14, to tender an apology before the congregation.

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has dismissed reports claiming that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) approved and published a list of its state chairmen across Nigeria. The party clarified that INEC has made no such confirmation, either officially or unofficially.

In a statement on Sunday, ADC spokesperson Bolaji Abdullahi described the report as “fake news” aimed at creating confusion. He stressed that the ratification of state leadership remains an internal party matter governed by the party’s constitution.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has obtained a court order to detain Sijibomi Ogundele, CEO of Sujimoto Luxury Construction Limited, over an alleged N5.7 billion unexecuted contract. About 792 women in Jigawa State have defected from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, to the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC. The women were officially received in Birnin Kudu Local Government Area by the governor’s wife, Amina Umar Namadi.

Mrs Namadi said the mass defection was a reflection of Governor Umar Namadi’s good leadership and commitment to improving citizens’ welfare, particularly women and youths. She congratulated the new members and assured them that the APC remains open to all willing to join its movement.
