Security personnel at the University of Calabar (UNICAL) have forcibly evicted several lecturers and senior staff members from their on-campus quarters amid the ongoing nationwide strike by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU).

Some affected staff accused the university management of abuse of power, claiming that security officers broke into the Boys’ Quarters of their residences. However, the school authorities clarified that the eviction was carried out under the directive of the university’s Governing Council.
