The hike in petrol prices across various filling stations nationwide has sparked widespread public outcry, as Nigerians continue to face deepening economic hardship. The new prices, now ranging between ₦935 and ₦970 per litre, are a sharp rise from the ₦900 range just the previous day. Many residents in Abuja and other urban centers expressed frustration over the impact on transportation, food prices, and overall cost of living, with some accusing the government of failing to regulate private sector players.

The Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) confirmed that the increase is due to a recent upward review of ex-depot prices by Dangote Refinery and other depot owners. According to IPMAN spokesperson Chinedu Ukadike, marketers no longer have direct access to refined products at stable prices, forcing them to adjust pump rates frequently. He also warned that without swift government intervention to stabilize supply and pricing, the country could face even higher fuel costs and more severe inflation in the coming weeks.

The Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS) has urged Nigerian travellers to strictly stick to the purpose stated in their U.S. visa applications.

In a statement by the Service Public Relations Officer, Akinsola Akinlabi, travellers were warned that overstaying, unauthorized work, or study violations could lead to visa revocation, deportation, or future ineligibility. Students were specifically advised to stay in active study, as dropping out or frequent absenteeism might result in visa cancellation.

Prominent opposition figure Dele Momodu has revealed that former Vice President Atiku Abubakar had a prior agreement to succeed ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo after his first term.

Momodu stated that the deal collapsed when Obasanjo backed out and stripped Atiku of his constitutional privileges. According to him, Atiku had strong backing from several former governors at the time, but the plan never materialized. Momodu made the disclosure in an article shared on his page.

Dr. Joe Abah, a lawyer and former Director-General of the Bureau of Public Sector Reform, has responded to the claim that the Igbo people are Jews who migrated from Israel and settled in southeastern Nigeria.

In a post shared on his X handle, Abah said he is not a jew and that his parents were created by God in Ebonyi state where they hail from.

"I am not a Jew. I am Igbo. We didn’t migrate from Israel or anywhere else.

"My people were created by God in Uburu in the present Ebonyi State. My ancestral home has been there from the beginning of time.

Former Attorney General of the Federation, Michael Aondoakaa, SAN, has stated that the rulings of the International Court of Justice and the Nigerian Supreme Court on the Akwa Ibom–Cross River oil boundary dispute have been fully implemented.

Aondoakaa said any move to revisit the issue lacks legal grounds and goes against both local and international law. He also recalled his involvement in the handover of the Bakassi Peninsula to Cameroon through the Green Tree Agreement, which enforced the ICJ ruling.
