𝐃𝐞 𝐄𝐬𝐩𝐚ñ𝐚 𝐚 𝐂𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐚 𝐞𝐧 𝐛𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐜𝐥𝐞𝐭𝐚: 16.000 𝐤𝐦 𝐡𝐚𝐜𝐢𝐚 𝐦𝐢𝐬 𝐫𝐚í𝐜𝐞𝐬

Desde que regresé del viaje, he tenido la suerte de poder compartir la experiencia en distintos foros y encuentros: desde la Asociación de Ex-Becarios Fulbright en España, hasta las Jornadas de los Grandes Viajes o el GulliverFest en Galicia.

A través de estas charlas he podido transmitir no solo el recorrido de dos años por 15 países, sino también los retos, dudas y aprendizajes que surgieron en el camino. Sobre todo, me gusta destacar la hospitalidad y generosidad de tantas personas que me encontré en el camino y que hicieron de este viaje una experiencia muy humana.

La próxima charla será en un lugar muy especial para mí: Zaragoza. No sólo porque allí empezó todo, la ciudad donde nací y crecí, y el kilómetro cero de esta aventura.

“Where the fear is, there is the task”

Con esta frase acabé la charla que dí el pasado 24 de mayo en las Jornadas de los grandes viajes . Una frase que me ha servido de brújula en mi viaje de España al este de China en bicicleta, hacia mis raíces.

Un camino de aprendizajes, de atravesar miedos, y sobre todo, de abrirse a la hospitalidad en todos los lugares por los que he pasado.

The bicycle journey is over, but memories are alive!

A few days ago, I gave a talk to the Spanish Fulbright Alumni Association in Madrid.
I could share a few pieces of the journey, the challenges I faced in some countries, and above all, the human kindness I experienced along the road.

That was the first talk I gave since I’m back in Spain, and I am looking forward to keep sharing the journey in the next ones!

Hace unos días, tuve la oportunidad de dar una charla a la Asociación de Ex-becarios Fulbright en España.
Pude compartir algunas de las vivencias en el viaje, los retos a los que me enfrenté en algunos de los países, y sobretodo, la hospitalidad y amabilidad de la gente que experimenté de primera mano en el camino.

Esta ha sido la primera charla desde mi regreso a España, y con ganas de seguir compartiendo en las que vienen!

Exactly three years ago, it was the very first day of “Journey from the road”, from Spain 🇪🇸 to Eastern China 🇨🇳 on a bicycle, back to my roots.

I left home in Zaragoza with a bicycle, 25 kg on my panniers, and ready for the unknown.
And off I went.
Little did I know everything I was going to experience… immense kindness. That’s how I lived it, that’s how I remember it.

These last few days have been pretty intense, a roller coaster of emotions.

I finally ended a two-year journey on a bicycle starting in the city I was born in, Zaragoza, Spain, and ending in my parents’ little village in Qingtian, in the countryside of Eastern China.

I felt fortunate to have my parents, grandparents, as well as my cousin and close relatives in Qingtian, wrapping up this long journey with me.

I felt warmly welcomed by the Qingtianese people and I was lucky to have the local TV and other professionals keeping these precious moments for the record (even if I was a bit awkward at first! 😬)

I don’t know how to describe how I have been feeling lately. I have barely slept for five days, I am still in a frenzy…

In this part of the world, 2025 starts just now.
For me, I’m closing a big chapter in my life, full of joy, full of lessons.
One I wish to cherish for many years to come! ☺️

2025 feels exciting, feels scary.
All at the same time. It is a mystery.
But I am ready to grab a whole new book.
I am ready to restart again, like I did a few years ago,
and slowly write the first page…
