๐ Eid ul-Azha โ The Festival of Sacrifice
---
๐ What is Eid ul-Azha?
Eid ul-Azha is the second and most important festival in Islam.
It is also called the Festival of Sacrifice.
It comes after the Hajj pilgrimage, on the 10th of Dhul-Hijjah, the 12th month of the Islamic calendar.
---
๐ The Story Behind Eid ul-Azha
This Eid honors the great sacrifice of Prophet Ibrahim (Abraham).
Allah tested him by asking him to sacrifice his beloved son, Ismail.
Even though it was hard, Ibrahim (A.S.) obeyed Allah.
But at the last moment, Allah replaced Ismail with a ram, showing that it was just a test of faith.
> โIndeed, this was a clear trial.โ โ Qurโan (Surah As-Saffat)
This story teaches us obedience, trust, and full submission to Allah.

๐ What Do Muslims Do on Eid ul-Azha?

On the morning of Eid, Muslims gather for a special prayer and sermon.
2. ๐ Offer Qurbani (Sacrifice):
Muslims who can afford it sacrifice an animal โ a goat, sheep, cow, or camel โ following the Sunnah of Ibrahim (A.S.).
3. ๐ Share the Meat:
The meat is divided into 3 parts:
One part for the family
One part for relatives/friends
One part for the poor and needy
4. ๐ Remember Allah:
Muslims say Takbeer (Allahu Akbar), give charity, and stay thankful.

๐ What Does Eid ul-Azha Teach Us?
Sacrifice is not just about animals โ itโs about giving up our ego, greed, and selfishness for the sake of Allah.
It teaches sharing, caring, and helping those in need.
It reminds us to be grateful, to follow Prophet Ibrahimโs faith, and to always trust Allah.
