Retiring US Ambassador to Ethiopia calls for an independent investigation in Tigray region
The outgoing US Ambassador to Ethiopia, Michael Raynor, called for an independent investigation in Tigray regional state. Becoming yet another official to claim the presence of Eritrean forces in Tigray, the ambassador stated: "we continue to be troubled by the activities of Eritrean actors in the region". Raynor added: "we continue to call for an immediate halt to, and independent investigation of, all credible reports of atrocities, sexual violence, and human rights violations in Tigray and other places of the country, such as Metekel."
