HOW TO WRITE A STRONG DISCUSSION SECTION FOR YOUR PAPER/THESIS
In the IMRaD structure of research papers, the results and discussion section is often fused. This fusion allows you to report the results of your computation/analysis alongside the discussion.
Within this framework, the Discussion section is expected to show the following;
1. The meaning of the results presented.
- Use such words like, the trend observed in the results rises due to the incomplete combustion of Carbon within the gas chambers.
2. The consistency or divergence with previous literature on the concept.
"This observation is consistent with similar observations in policy based literature on women advocacy and franchise[20, 45]"
3. The implications/real world application of the findings.
Use such words like "These results suggest that language use could be grounds to drive government controlled disillusionment similar to what was observed in George Orwell's 1984"
4. Link to the research objective(s)
"The results support the thesis of this study by clearly identifying material interfaces as a significant host of Exciton decay within physically realistic environmental constraints"
Each visual is usually followed by a discussion in a paper and for Thesis, each table and figure presented in Chapter 4 is discussed in like manner.
