🚀 2025, Here We Go!
With January almost over, we’re reflecting on an incredible 2024 and feeling grateful and excited for the journey ahead this year. 🌱

✨Highlights from last year:
✔️ Successfully launched our first pilot production line in Espoo, proving the scalability of our technology, boosting production capacity, and significantly reducing costs.
✔️Collaborated on pilot products with some amazing new customers.
✔️Got our recyclability in cardboard streams verified with KCL
✔️Successfully completed our €400k Business Finland R&D Project
✔️Got public funding EIC Pathfinder €300k on Archibiofoam Project
✔️Secured further funding to power our journey – details to follow!

🌟 We won 1st place as the new wood innovation of the 2024 Uusi puu-competition! 🌟

A huge thank you to everyone who voted for Woamy biofoam packaging. Your support is invaluable to our mission of reducing the environmental impact of plastics and bringing sustainable, innovative solutions to the market. We’re honored to be part of the Uusi puu-initiative, standing alongside pioneers in new material innovations.

This recognition highlights the power of collaboration. At Woamy, we believe that partnerships across industries and institutions are essential to reaching ambitious green transition goals. Working with Aalto University’s Pack-Age course on the now-awarded whiskey glass biofoam packaging has been inspiring; these talented students fully immersed themselves in our mission, creating insightful ways to showcase Woamy biofoam’s potential for luxury packaging. This project has been impactful for both our team and our customers.

The future is bright. While we’re starting with luxury packaging, our vision is to revolutionize the entire foam industry for a more sustainable tomorrow. 🌍

🌟 Happy 2024 from Woamy! 2023 was a significant time in our growth, and here's a short recap of what we achieved:

- 🚀 Closed a seed funding round with a total of 1M euro investment.
- 🔬Received €461k R&D public funding from Business Finland
- 🛠️ Built a scaled pilot production line in Espoo, Finland, increasing our production capacity tenfold
- 🎉 Showcased our Woamy biofoam at the Plastic Waste-Free World Expo.
- 💡 Proudly joined the Plug and Play accelerator program.
- 🤝 Launched groundbreaking pilot production for Secto Design in collaboration with Paptic.
- 🌍Build a wide global network of customers and are looking forward to launching new pilot productions soon.
- 📈 Expanded our talented multidisciplinary team to 16 dedicated team members.

During 2023 we learned a lot and we are continually growing. We are excited about 2024 and can’t wait to share with you all the exciting things that we have in our pipeline, so stay tuned for more updates.

Hello from Monaco! 🇲🇨 Woamy is thrilled to be part of LuxePack Monaco this year, where we've already had exciting encounters with various packaging companies and luxury brands. We can't wait to see how those collaborations unfold. We're thrilled to announce our Seed Round is officially closed at €1 Million 🚀, we are now one step closer to our mission of creating a positive impact and replacing plastic foams.

Since June 2022 and within 6 months of incorporation, we are growing at a rapid pace to successfully achieve our milestones. We are grateful for everyone who participated in this round and shared their thoughts or advice and look forward to continued support from our investors, customers, partners, and all other enablers.

We are so happy to be part of the Kiuas 2022 Alumni! 🤩 This Autumn we took part in the Kiuas Accelerator program which is one of the top accelerators in Finland. So thank you Kiuas for all the support, insights, tools, mentors and connections you provided us with over the 10 weeks and thank you for being part of our journey also in the future. We also got to know many exciting new rising entrepreneurs during the program and can’t wait to see how their journey unfolds. ✨

2021-2022 we sponsored a team of Product Development Project -students and as a result they helped us to upscale our production line from lab scale to a garage scale machine, which made our production 50 times faster. 🚀

As a bonus the collaboration also gave us one founder and 2 amazing employees. In fact we were so happy with the collaboration with PDP that we’re sponsoring a new talented team again this year and we’re very excited to see what comes out of it. 🤩
