Typhoon Ragasa has moved past Hong Kong, and it makes landfall on the Guangdong coast between Yangjiang and Zhanjiang. The winds will weaken quickly over land, but heavy rain will later reach even northern Vietnam.

Very cold air is streaming in to eastern Europe from the North this week. The cold airmass brings cold nights, chilly daytime temperatures and even snowfall to a very large area. Next week warmer weather will flow in again.

The snowy weather continues in parts of Europe through the weekend. Snow accumulation between Friday and Sunday from Estonia to Poland is 5–30 cm, locally even 30–50 cm. Similar amounts of snow can also come in some of the mountainous areas in SE Europe, Italy and Switzerland.
