New microphone day!

Today we received this really cool N**E Microphones Stereo Blumlein Ribbon Microphone and we also got their really cool 2-mic ”stereo” adapter!

Can’t wait to hear the ribbon mic on our drum and acoustic guitar recordings!!!

NEW GEAR ALERT!!!

We've just finished our long-awaited computer update. Our new brain is the Apple Mac Studio M2 Ultra 64 GB RAM. With this update all of our software have been updated to their latest versions. HUGE thanks again go out to Ari Viitanen/Iirokki for designing the system and obtaining the necessary hardware.

Also, we've expanded our Pro Tools system with a Black Lion Audio Revolution EXP ADAT interface, which will bring 8 channels of i/o to use with our outboard processors. This is a great addition to our existing BLA gear setup! Expect more news on this soon...

Right after new year Erkka Korhonen will start mixing 3 new Red Ravyn songs, featuring Mark Boals on vocals!

Today we had the great people from Rockway shooting a production course with our very own Korhonen Erkka. For that we also did an autumn cleanup! We’ve been busy and we noticed that it’s been VERY LONG since our last update here, but we’ve been working with Marko Hietala for his Vain elämää project and Red Ravyn feat. Mark Boals among others… cool stuff!!!

Drumtech extraordinaire Jarkko Piipari (Nightwish, Raskasta Joulua) gettin our pdp drums kit ready for a sessio that starts today. Spring dates are booked fast, book your session quickly to get the drum sound that legendary mixing engineer Jesse Vainio called ”everything he could ever hope for”!

We will naturally arrange drumtech services to all our clients when necessary.

ToneHills Studio wants to congratulate Raskasta Joulua for conquering the n:o 1 spot on the Finnish physical album chart and n:o 7 on the main album chart with their latest album "Viides Adventti"!!! Also, their 2013 self-titled album made a comeback to the chart at n:0 48!

ToneHills Studio has been proud to be a huge part of these albums since 2013. Most of the production (including drums) and mixing for all of the albums during that period have been done here. Here are some stats:
