MUSA KASA news update 2/2022

Greetings! Time to break the deafening radio silence of the past few months with some great news & announcements:

- Kosmic prog-pop phenomenon Kos Mos embarks on its first ever tour!

Kos Mos reboots its gigging engine literally “straight from the top” after a couple years of dormancy!
The group crams itself into a minivan and hits the road for an epic six concert tour criss-crossing the Norrbotten region of Northern Sweden. “The Amazing Intergalactic Kosmic Prog-Pop Norrbotten Takeover Tour 22” concludes with a show on the familiar stalwart stage of 45 Special in Oulu, Kos Mos’s home turf.

- Joni Raikaslehto InFusion performs at Kalott Jazz & Blues Festival!

“Postmodern” jazz/fusion powerhouse Joni Raikaslehto InFusion is performing in Finland for the first time in this july!
We’re super excited to have this opportunity to perform on this fine international jazz festival along with some excellent artists from Finland and Sweden.
Serving as an “slightly” delayed release concert, J.R. InFusion will be performing their debut album “Prog-Fu!” (released 26.11.2021) in it’s entirety along with some other hard-hitting fusion bangers. Come check it out!

- The recordings sessions for “new prog-rock album project” have begun!

These three eccentric gentlemen hit Wolfbeat studios in Kempele, Finland two weeks ago to lay down the basic tracks for this mysterious new project. After composing the music around 2015-2018 and finishing the arrangements and lyrics last winter it feels absolutely amazing to finally get to record the final product for this passion project! The sessions for the album will continue throughout this summer and hopefully we have some epic progressive music to share with you at some point in autumn.

On top of these gig announcements and upcoming sessions, there’s still some unreleased music from last year waiting in the vault, so needless to say,

Greetings from snowy(!?) Helsinki!

After the hectic pace of updates and releases last autumn, I’ve decided to take things a bit more chill
this year. But worry not, there’s a lot of cool n’ interesting stuff in the works for 2022 as well
= some singles, EP’s, hopefully one or two full albums and maybe even live concerts with some of the projects, hot damn!

Alrighty then, time to commence MUSA KASA news update 1/2022:

- I’ve been working hard on a new prog-rock album project for the past four months. The music and lyrics for the album are basically done, arrangements almost finalised and we’re soon ready to start the recording sessions!
Progressive rock was the first thing that really got me attracted to music, and needless to say, I’m pretty dang excited to be able to work on this somewhat autobiographical & loosely conceptual collection of “retro-futuristic” progressive rock.

- In addition to the slow n’ steady constant stream of streams on Spotify, both AAVA and Joni Raikaslehto InFusion have been featured several times on the airwaves of the Finnish jazz-oriented radio station, Groove Fm! Really cool!

- Kos Kos is re-activating once again! We’re back in the rehearsal room shedding some seriously cool tunes, both new and old and hopefully You will be able to witness the “kosmic prog-pop” of Kos Mos live some time in the near future!

- Due to a long streak of unfortunate events and radical changes in the personal life situations of the members of the group, the nordic jazz quartet AAVA has entered a state of indefinite hiatus. We are extremely grateful for all the fans who’ve been following us through our journey and been showing genuine interest towards our music. Thank you and farewell (for now, at least)!

Greetings from snowy Lapland!

Another crazy year is almost over, so It's about time to wrap things up:

2021 was full of awesome moments & opportunities but also stressful uncertainty and disappointing cancellations. I will personally remember this year as a turning point in my life, a new beginning of sorts. The year I founded MUSA KASA, my record label & composition portfolio, and really started to push my music projects out to the world!

During MUSA KASA's first six months of existence I've managed to:

- Create a website and social media channels for MUSA KASA

- Arrange & execute "Fusion Tour 2021" = a short, 4 concert tour in Denmark with two of my bands "Joni Raikaslehto InFusion" & Quicksilver Quartet

- Release digitally four singles, four music videos and two full-length albums! (links to all these releases in comments, a perfect chance to revisit your favourites/check out the ones you missed!)

- Score some official Spotify playlist placements

Needless to say, I'm really proud of all these achievements and absolutely humbled by all the positive feedback! My most sincere gratitude goes to all of you who have streamed & shared the music from MUSA KASA's artists/projects.

What's next?

Well, there's still a few EP's and singles left in the vault and a lot of new stuff (and a "new" MUSA KASA project as well!) in the works , so stay tuned for more exiting (a little less frequent) music releases for 2022!

Gigging and booking is still covered in the veil of covid related uncertainty, but if possible, there will be another short tour and hopefully some individual concerts in somewhere around Finland/Denmark/Germany area. Finger crossed!

At the moment, the MUSA KASA label is still basically a one man project including all the planning, booking, band management, editing, mixing (got some assistance from Tomi Raikaslehto, thanks man!), marketing, web design/updates, graphic design and cover artwork (got some help with this stuff as well, thanks Sari Raikaslehto!). Its been a pretty exhausting few months, but also extremely rewarding as well.

1. The next MUSA KASA release will be out this Friday in the form of "Fuji", the first single from Joni Raikaslehto InFusion's upcoming debut album "Prog-Fu!".

Turbocharged jazz/fusion in epic proportions coming right up, stay tuned!

2. The first album released under our label, the self titled debut by nordic jazz quartet AAVA reached over 10k streams on it's first week on Spotify!

The tune "Knud, The Storm" is still featured on major Spotify curated playlists including "Jazz x-press" & "Jazz today".

Hello dear friends & followers!

It's almost time.

Our self-titled debut album, AAVA will finally be released digitally this Friday (1.10.) on all major music streaming platforms.

It feels like a small eternity since we recorded these tunes during one hectic weekend all the way back in Spring 2019, but there was certainly something magical happening in those sessions...

We hope you're looking forward to this release as much as we do!
