We’ve adapted to life in Finland but some things just come with us.

The way we share food.
The way family is always involved.
The instinct to bring leftovers home. 😅

And the way “Have you eaten?” is basically a love language.

We’re still learning, adapting and figuring out what parts of each culture we want to carry with us.

What’s one thing from your culture you’d never want to give up? 👇

We saw a long line and immediately had questions. đŸ€”

Is it a free bucket? đŸȘŁ

If you know, you know. 😅

We didn’t move to Finland expecting a perfect life.

We just wanted something different for our family. More security, a better work-life balance and a little more time to actually enjoy being together.

Now, watching our kids grow up with more independence, more time outdoors and space to simply be kids, we sometimes realize how much that decision changed our family.

One last stretch of summer in Finland, slow mornings, family time, little adventures and nowhere we really needed to be.

Trying to enjoy these ordinary days before the alarms, schedules and school runs take over again.

Are you ready for school to start?

Free, quality basic education is something we’ve really come to appreciate in Finland. đŸ‡«đŸ‡ź

Back in the Philippines, we were used to paying a lot for what we considered good quality education, often through private schools.

Here, our kids have been in basic education for 3 years without us paying tuition fees.

Of course, education systems have their own strengths and challenges and Finland isn’t perfect. But as parents, having access to publicly funded education is one less major expense to worry about.

Do you pay school tuition fees where you live? 👇
