Food is rarely just food. Food is something that brings people together. It keeps people alive. Food makes people meet each other, be with each other and be there for each other. It’s a medium for love and a way to create life-lasting memories. It’s a bond between families, mothers and their children. Literally since birth. Also for the former captain of the National football team of Finland, Paulus Arajuuri and his mother Sirja.

It was a pure pleasure to be able to tell a real story this beautiful. Life is food and food is life. This documentary story for S-market was made together with the agency FOLK, produced by Juha-Matti Nieminen and directed by the crème de la crème of all documentarists Otso Tiainen.

Our gold-winning short film is finally out there — made for the Cannes Shootout, a unique and demanding competition that pushes filmmakers to their creative limits.

The film had to begin with 3 seconds of identifiers, be shot entirely on one Super 8 roll with no editing or post-production, and fit within the roll’s 2-minute 25-second duration. It was screened for the first time at the premiere — even the filmmakers saw it then for the very first time.

This big-screen film made on the smallest format marks the directorial debut of who also wrote and produced the film. The cinematography is by the ever-talented , with lead roles played by .e and
