Hellsinki Metal Festival brought together 16,000 metalheads last weekend, delivering an impressive variety of sounds and acts from Finland and beyond.

We’re kicking off our festival galleries with the bands that gave it their all on stage. Here are some of our shots of three great Finnish bands who had the task of opening the festival, taking on Helsinki’s blazing sun and proving once again why we keep saying that Finland is an absolute powerhouse of quality metal. 🇫🇮🤘

IKINÄ delivered a powerful and emotional show on the first day of Hellsinki Metal Festival, joined on stage by the Choir of Hecate, in a performance that combined the force of metal with a powerful message of awareness and sisterhood.

Between mosh pits and the energy of the crowd, the festival suddenly fell completely silent during a particularly meaningful moment: Ikinä called for a moment of silence as an act of protest and remembrance for women who have lost their lives to violence.

The gesture was meant not only to honor the victims, but also to draw attention to the seriousness of violence against women and femicide in Finland... at least 15 women have died as a result of violence in Finland this year, a particularly concerning figure in relation to the country’s population compared with other Nordic countries.

In a scene where women continue to face misogyny and violence, Ikinä’s message was clear: metal can be loud, but it can also make space to listen, remember and stand together.

Three Chilean bands, one stage, and a shared goal: bringing Chile’s metal scene to Finland.

As part of WTF Capital of Metal, Intrascendence, Pronoias and Sobernot took the stage at Semifinal in Helsinki, presenting their music to local audiences and international music industry professionals.

The showcase highlighted the diversity of Chilean metal while creating new opportunities for cultural exchange and international collaboration between Chile and Finland.

🇪🇸 Tres bandas chilenas, un mismo escenario y un objetivo en común: llevar la escena del metal chileno a Finlandia.

Como parte de Welcome to Finland – Capital of Metal, Intrascendence, Pronoias y Sobernot se presentaron en Semifinal, en Helsinki, mostrando su música ante el público local y representantes de la industria musical internacional en la antesala del Hellsinki Metal Festival .

El showcase puso en relieve la diversidad del metal chileno y abrió nuevas oportunidades para el intercambio cultural y la colaboración internacional entre Chile y Finlandia.

After a 20-month hiatus, Blind Channel has officially announced its return.

The Finnish band revealed that the singles “Diana” and “No Encores In A Swan Song” will be released on August 6, marking the beginning of a new era. More music will follow with additional singles leading up to the release of the band’s sixth studio album, Painstream, arriving on October 30 via Century Media Records. A music video is also set to premiere on August 5 at 10 p.m. (EEST).

Alongside the new music, Blind Channel announced an exclusive European comeback show at Helsinki Ice Hall Black Box on November 14, which will be their only European performance this autumn before heading to Japan and launching a full European tour in early 2027.

Tras una pausa de 20 meses, Blind Channel ha anunciado oficialmente su regreso.

La banda finlandesa reveló que los sencillos “Diana” y “No Encores In A Swan Song” se lanzarán el 6 de agosto, marcando el inicio de una nueva etapa. Posteriormente llegarán más sencillos como adelanto de su sexto álbum de estudio, Painstream, cuyo lanzamiento está previsto para el 30 de octubre a través de Century Media Records. Además, un nuevo video musical se estrenará el 5 de agosto a las 22:00 horas (EEST).

Junto con la nueva música, Blind Channel anunció un concierto exclusivo de regreso en Europa que se llevará a cabo el 14 de noviembre en el Helsinki Ice Hall Black Box. Será la única presentación de la banda en Europa durante este otoño, antes de viajar a Japón y dar inicio a una gira europea completa a principios de 2027.
