Aural Hypnox came into being in the end of 2003 and at the moment concentrates only on the output of the members of the Helixes collective. Expanding out to support other interesting acts has been on the cards several times, but so far these groups (Aeoga, Aural Holograms, Arktau Eos, Halo Manash and Zoät-Aon) have been more than creative enough, demanding all the time and resources available. We

aim to provide all the Helixes collective members the exact milieu and framework which us, the label and the artists, deem fit at a given time. Moreover, with all productions we strive for an all-encompassing view, which for its part attempts to bring forth the inmost vision and Will of the related artists or groups and thereby f.ex. It is our firm belief that Aural Hypnox releases are important and special because they offer stimulating and challenging views – an endless pilgrimage to the soulside – making real and total experiences possible. The mark of handicraft will be a constant feature of all Aural Hypnox releases as far into the future as can be foreseen, upholding as it does certain aesthetic values everybody involved share. Combining arts and crafts in the publication process is extremely motivating, requiring constant learning and a great deal of good old fashioned hard work. It should be noted that in greater perspective, only a few steps have been taken into this direction so far; it requires attention as much as any other matter of creativity. Everything starting with the choice of packaging materials should ideally reflect the purity of the original intent. We improve release by release, taking care they do not compromise the identity of the label and the Helixes collective.

The Aural Hypnox shop is back online!

A few notes: the new shop has been live for only a few hours, and I’ve already successfully received a few orders. If you encounter any issues, please let me know and I’ll do my best to resolve them as quickly as possible. You can find a contact form on the store pages.

Unfortunately, Finland’s postal service (Posti) is still not delivering letters or parcels to Russia, and at the moment this also applies to the United States. I hope this situation will change in the near future, and I’m closely monitoring how things develop.

Update on the Aural Hypnox online shop situation

The shop is already finished, but unfortunately I still can’t open it. The last couple of weeks have been spent wrestling with the PayPal plugin, and no solution has been found to get it working. Well, the problem would have been solved a long time ago if someone at PayPal had actually done something! This has been extremely frustrating, and I’ve decided that if this isn’t resolved soon, I will remove PayPal as a payment option entirely and switch to Stripe. Unfortunately, because of this, the shop will now open only at the beginning of January — which might actually be a good thing, considering the postal issues we’ve had in previous years around Christmas and New Year.

There will be no new releases in the catalogue when the shop opens. I will, however, continue working on the releases that are in their final stages, with plans to bring them out within the next few months. Some new items will still be available — namely the new Unfyros album “Star Blood” and the related t-shirt, released by Avantgarde Music. The album will be available on CD and LP, and the t-shirt has been printed by Aural Hypnox. Additionally, a limited number of embroidered back patches will be available.

In addition to the Unfyros release, I went through my personal Aural Hypnox release archive and concluded that it needs to be reduced. I once thought that for the 30th anniversary I could create a comprehensive Aural Hypnox box set, which is why a few copies of various titles were set aside after each release. But space has become a real problem! Because of this, a small number of old, long sold-out Aural Hypnox “classics” will be available for purchase. If your collection is missing some of the earlier releases, this might be a good opportunity to complete it. More info will follow!

In a week, the elemental fires shall blaze in Leipzig. Be there!

Next Friday, the Northern Fires shall blaze forth in Leipzig at UT Connewitz, rising as a monolithic pillar piercing the worlds.

The evening shall be opened by Paussnitz, a local act conjuring otherworldly atmospheres. And as only two acts are set to haunt the night, we may well be compelled to extend our set beyond its customary length — though such matters are ultimately left to the hands of the spirit-currents that gather on site.
