Seminar: Wildlife - in conversation with Ana Luisa Santos

Yesterday, Ateles Films ' Ana Luisa Santos had the pleasure to give a seminar about wildlife filmmaking in the Junta de Freguesia de Alburitel, where she shared a bit of her journey as a filmmaker in the wild.
We are very happy with the warm welcome and positive feedback from all the attendees.
Thanks for the opportunity and hopefully more to come in the future.

Today we joined for the activity "Caminhos d'Ourém - Passeios Pedestres 2024" where we hiked along trails where we observed the local nature and wildlife.

Thanks to Junta de Freguesia de Alburitel for. these great initiatives to learn and understand better the wildlife around the world and locally.

About the Webinar:
There are always different sides of a story. What your eyes see, what your equipment allows you to do and what your camera eventually shoots. When filming moving images of the natural world, many things have to be taken into consideration to tell a good story.
Wildlife filmmakers Ana Luisa Santos and Michael Sanderson, together as Ateles Films, have travelled the world filming wildlife for various international broadcasters. Their films range from the jungles to mountains and from deserts to swamps. They are very experienced but that doesn’t make the job any less demanding. Each project brings new challenges and surprises that they didn’t experience before. In this webinar, some of their more memorable moments will be highlighted through case studies where we hear their inspiring stories from the wild.

GREAT NEWS! Our short film "Spider Monkey for Sale" has won the 'Short Film' Category at the Vaasa Wildlife Festival in Vaasa, Finland.
Another important recognition of this illegal pet trade issue and the reality behind owning pet monkeys. This short films shows in images what happens to the family of the baby monkeys that are stolen from the Central American jungles.
Once again thanks to Vaasa Wildlife Festival to give voice and exposure to these endangered animals.

Eng: We are super proud to share that Ana Luisa Santos from Ateles Films was selected to be one of the cinematography Lab Fellows in this year's edition at Jackson Wild.
This Lab is a partnership between the American Cinematographer (ASC) and Wildlife Society of Filmmakers. It will be led by a group of award-winning cinematography mentors including Paul Atkins, ASC, Stephen Lighthill, President of the ASC, and Ann Prum, Founder of Coneflower Studios.
What a great an honour and opportunity to be part of this experience!

In partnership with the American Society of Cinematographers and Wildlife Society of Filmmakers, Jackson Wild is thrilled to launch a specialized programming track at this year's Jackson Wild Summit for experienced and established cinematographers, specifically focused on refining techniques and skill sets.

This program will be a small group intensive led by a group of award-winning cinematography mentors including Paul Atkins, ASC, Stephen Lighthill, President of the ASC, and Ann Prum, Founder of Coneflower Studios. Throughout the week, the Cinematography cohort will work together on a series of early morning shoots followed by group analysis and critique to share perspectives and perfect artistic skill sets using latest camera, lens and rigging gear in a unique and collaborative professional development experience with masters of the craft.
