Part of Wailoaloa Beach in Nadi has been condoned off after a helicopter crashed near the popular picnic spot this afternoon. According to Fiji Airports Limited, the incident involving the Robinson R44 helicopter occurred near the Nadi Boat Club at around 5.23pm. The Civil Aviation Authority of Fiji is expected to appoint an investigator to look into the incident.

Philippine Ambassador to Fiji Noel Mangaoang Novicio and Madame Dorothy Novicio welcomed guests at the 128th Philippine Independence Day celebration held at the Holiday Inn in Suva, showcasing traditional attire and cultural artefacts as part of the evening’s festivities. Mr Novicio, the first Philippine Ambassador to Fiji, noted the significance of the occasion as preparations continue toward the establishment of the first-ever Philippine Embassy in Fiji. The mission is currently based along Sukanaivalu Road, next to Dr De Asa's clinic. The celebration highlighted deepening cultural ties and friendship between Fiji and the Philippines.
